Wow - I didn't know about the 2Gb dual channel limit - are you sure that isn't just because there aren't any 1GB DDR sticks out - do you have an article reference?
Thanks - I had never heard with certainty that the 3.2 would be out on the 21st with Springdale - but sort of figured so with the AMD 3200+ being announced. Some had said earlier it might not be until June.
If you look at the overall benchmarks on PCMAG.com - they did a test of desktop 875 systems and also of "gaming" systems (separate articles). Though its clear Raid0 will give significantly higher disk-only benchmarks - the overall benchmarks are hardly any different at all. Same ole story - as...
Also - when will the 3.2C be announced? I understand that Springdale will be officially launched this week - but have heard the 3.2 P4 may not be till June?
Yes - they are using 512 mb sticks because they are filling up the 4 slots. Is it too risky to go buy Corsair for instance - I've heard that there are issues with matching MB and memory with the 875 chipset.
The Register says Springdale 1 month after Canterwood (Mid-May), but it sounds like the 3.2 P4 is June. Any comments? If I could order the 3.0C from Dell I would - but they have pulled it.
Intel may have said the problem was resolved - but unless the major PC vendors are shipping it - it ain't really shipping. Dell and Gateway announced product and then pulled and replaced them with 3.06's with 533 buses and 333 DDR instead. Does anyone know a major vendor which is shipping...
Lexmark has OEM's their inkjet printers to others in the past (Brother and Samsung for 2), and in those cases they molded in "keys" in the cap of the cartridge so that they were not interchangeable (unless you cut the plastic up) - I don't know if this is the case for the dell's or not.
I just noticed that Dell has re-posted their Canterwood 875 based model 8300 Dimension - but with the 3.06 P4 and 533 front side bus setting. This may be a bad sign for the 3.0C.
The WLAN (wireless) component green LED is dead - and no wireless service. The wired connection is fine - has this happened to anyone? Been running fine for a year up till now.
Right now I only need about 2 Gig - (structureal finite element analysis), but history proves that the need grows each year. When you run out of RAM and start swapping to disk - you might as well go on to bed.
I was very disappointed when it appeared that Granite Bay was not being broadly supported for P4. The big problem for me was there is no way to get to 4 gigabytes of memory on an Intel board with p4. Thus - I wait for Canterwood/Springdale.
Gunbuster - the problem appears on PC's with the 850 (Rambus) chipset - but that may not be the whole story. The PIII that was far superior was a dual processor 800, so we will check if the difference is just due to single/dual processors.
No - this is not a porn app - purely technical. Sorry...
New news - whoa!! I just tried a PIII 800 with a Serverworks MB and it does not exhibit the same problem of swamping the processor when using all the USB 2 ports on one USB card that I experienced with a Dell p4 2.53. This must be a chipset/driver problem.
Thanks for all the comments.

It looks like server boards are the way to go - the Dells all have 7 PCI slots. Most of you guys didn't listen (read) above my second post explaining. All of these cards (and on-board) setups that support 5 USB connections are using only 1 controller chip to drive the 5 USB connections. Each...
