I have an issue with a Win 2003 server running raid 1. I'm not that familiar with raid so bare with me. Disk 1 failed and says missing under disk management. Disk 0 says Online but Failed Redundancy (System). It appears that disk 1 and 0 both have bad blocks. How can I replace a drive and...

I removed 75 spyware things...not programs to get rid of it. I came this far, I want to at least try another valid attempt to get rid of this dumb thing. Anyone else?
This is my cousins gateway pc...2gig, 256mb, winxp home.
I cleaned off 254 virus infected files using avg and about 75 spyware programs using spysweeper and spybot. Both programs act like it did got rid of cws_ns3 successully, but as soon as it is deleted, it comes right back. I have read...
Never had any luck with repairing Windows. Hook it up as a slave to another pc and pull the info you need off. Stop errors can occur for many different reasons.
If it was, how can I tell by reading the chip. I've been having problems putting this processor in an older board (Epox 8k7a). Epox said it's possible it is a 333 fsb chip? If it wasn't, guess I'll be rmaing the cpu.
The board supports up to 2200 xp. I've seen people using 2400 and 2600 also. I do not have another computer to try this processor out on. Any more thoughts.
I'm putting together a pc for my dad for christmas using some old parts I had and adding a newer processor and memory. I had a 1.2 ghz tbird in a machine before with the epox 8k7a. I bought a 2000 xp processor with 256mb of pc2100 kingston ram. The onboard leds never change, they just stay at FF...
Well...put my 1 ghz tbird in and she boots. Updated the BIOS. Put the other processor back in, and she doesn't work again. Fans spin, but no video or anything else. Is the processor bad? Or maybe just some other thing with the board I need to set? It was at default and nothing happened...
Yeah I checked Epox before I bought a processor. It supports up to a 2200 I believe. I've even seen posts on here for 2400 or I think a 2600 even. anyway...I don't have the 1.2 anymore...but I do have an old 1ghz...I wonder if that'll work.

I've had a similar senario...when you format the drive, do you fdisk it first? Try this...totally get rid of the partition and try again. Maybe there is corruption in the boot sector? Are you overclocking or anything?
Could potentially be a harddrive problem. Run diags on the drive...see if it finds anything...otherwise I might be inclinded to think of adware...in which case you need a program to delete that stuff. Check for viruses...
Does any fans spin? Do you hear any beeping? When you push the power button, does anything happen? Have you checked your manual and your connections for your power button, etc? Try just putting in the video, ram, and cpu and boot...does this help?
These are all built by a local company...and my brother has a Samsung floppy in his pc. Just seems odd to me. I had him do all the updates and check viruses...which didn't help. Only other thing I could try is to put another drive in...but why would 30+ pcs all of a sudden have bad floppies?
It seems he is still having this issue. Anyone else with possiblities? If you put even a blank floppy in the drive it says "Insert floppy" as if its not there. His older XP machines (a year or so) work OK.
johnjkr1: Do you want to give me an example? I'm not exactly sure what you are thinking...I'm thinking there is a program that would basically make an image of sorts when I'm finished building the system...
gurpstar: That doesn't appear to be exactly the correct thing. Not really sure what...
I have made several PCs for people...and have recently been asked about possibly making a recovery cd for them. Does anyone have any info on this? I guess I am thinking of making a cd that will boot, and reformat the drive as well as ask for a Windows CD when it needs. Any help appreciated.
Well I did a fresh install tonight...put on Win2k SP4...seems to be running OK..just gonna run some more tests and check some more stuff out. I also tried the memtest for the first time...how long does it take for results? is it only a single loop test?
The pc seems to work fine on the old drive that I loaded from scratch...it's just when i ghost it to another one...it can run for hours without problems...then to just boot it up some time, will give corruption...Some missing file in Winnt/System folder...I should be getting this tonight...so...
Could the ram or processor cause this? Since they are the only things I haven't replaced in the box. The ram is a crucial 256 mb pc2100 stick and the processor is an athlon 1.2ghz.
I'll try that...I delivered it last night, because I found something about a conflict with the ATI video card and the ALI chipset on the motherboard and installed a geforce 32 mb video card. Didn't have any problems after that...and then he called today. Ugh. I'm just really not liking these...
I put together a computer for someone 2 years ago. It's been great until he just got hit with viruses. I reinstalled Win2k and have since been getting corruption errors after a period of time. I ran diags on the harddrive and it found bad sectors...I also read things about the motherboard...
I recently had an issue with PM where it locked my computer up in the middle of resizing partitions...and I was unable to get anything back...until I bought some data recovery software. I'm looking for a newer and better solution as well.
What kind of processor do you have in it? What about memory? I have a 1.2 gig tbird and 256 pc2100. Is the board ok with 266 fsb? Found it slightly used for $31.
I need a board to replace an epox 8k7a fast. This is one I am considering. Was this board OK in the past? How is it with a 32mb ATI Radeon video card? I heard there may be a possible problem with the chipset and ATI video cards.
