I have some very important info concerning the Iwill KK266, must read....

I also have a rev. 1.2 board from NewEgg...same mult probs...my tbird 900 either posts at 850 or 1100 after changing multiplier. As to the BIOS mercutio linked too...everything works except #4...it doesn't fix the problem. I'm RMA'ing mine back to Iwill...should be getting a working replacement...

Wierd O/C on IWill kk266 and Duron 700...need help

It's not a penciling problem...there's a small batch of rev 1.2 boards that have serious multiplier issues (most CPU's get stuck at 8.5). This is the case with my KK266 + tbird 900...latest BIOS revision (dated march 3, i believe) says it fixes CPU frequency problem, but it doesn't. I'm...

KK266 rev1.2 probs - multiple wierdness....

You're definitely not the only one having this problem...a batch of 1.2 boards came out with big multiplier weirdness...i have the same 8.5 mult problem you have. So far, even with the latest BIOS (dated march 3?), it's still broken. Going to RMA mine...

Received my SC750a last night, but didn't have time to open the box...finally open it today and take a peek inside, and what do I discover? There's only the power cable and a bag of silica gel! Not even one bag of friggin' screws or mobo mounts or extra fan mounts...I really don't think I got...

Is there a way to start your RC5 client from desktop (Linux Mandrake 7.2)?

For some reason, after reading dnet1.c and closing it, then configuring client, it finally made the ini...runs now :)

Just installed 8.0 on my WD 20gb....don't seem to have any problems...I have a ghost backup JIC.

Right now, the best bang for the buck would be a motherboard based on the KT133A chipset such as an Abit KT7A or an Asus A7V133. Both these motherboards (or any motherboard with the KT133A chipset) are capable of running 266fsb Athlons. I would also probably go with a 1200mhz Tbird, as chances...

Sugadaddy....companies like the ones you mentioned buy chips from Nvidia in lots of usually 1-10,000....at sginificantly reduced prices...I'm doubting that they're paying more than $80 per chip...

Update: The interview doesn't say specifically that the NV20 is going to have a budget version, but you do get the gist from the 2nd question that they're going to continue the police of making different cards for different markets.

Wrong...there was an "Ask Nvidia" feature over at Sharky's..one question asked what Nvidia was going to do since the price of the NV20 is so high...they said that there would be a scalable, budget versions of the card to fill in the gap that the MX fills today.

Installing the Promise Ultra ATA 100 controller on the A7V133

Download the latest Promise drivers and put them on a floppy (make sure txtsetup.oem is on the disk). As soon as win2k install starts, hit f6. Hit S to select the drivers, then hit Enter. Should continue with the install and you won't have to install any promise drivers once you're in windows.

looking for good radeon o/c utility

There's been quite a few mentioned on VE3D..RadeonTweak, RadeonTweaker, Raid-ON (the one I'm currently using in conjuctions w/ powerstrip 3.0 beta). Just head to TweakFiles and 3dFiles and look for them.

Eh, Oh lord! Western Digital's incredible......

I've had a 1gb WD from 1995, still going strong, and a 6.4 from summer 1998 (was also working flawless until an encounter with the dreaded 4.28 4in1s). But, I just bought a 46.1gb Deskstar just because of all the good things I've heard about them.
