Printer option is parallel only. At least you guys with slow printer connections got it to work - I dealt with Siemens tech support for 2 weeks before I finally gave up and returned my wireless version of this. Nothing would make it work with my HP 930C or 970Cxi printers. After making me...
I actually bought the combo 10 days ago on sale for $119, then pricematched last week to $109, now I have to go back in the next 2 days for $99. And here I thought it was a good deal at $119! Although, waiting in line for 45 minutes last week makes me think twice about going back for only $10...
Lowest price I've ever seen on this combo prior to this was $109. You may want to consider getting your heat sink and fan elsewhere, however - the Frys in Fremont doesn't have anything but a bunch of returned units in questionable condition. Prices good Weds and Thurs only.

Searchmaster, I was perfectly happy with my Dish PVR until I saw a DirecTIVO at a friend's house, then I realized what I was missing! No worries about programs actually recording when they're supposed to, no worries about the guide data actually downloading, no worries...
You'll be sorry if you buy a DishNetwork PVR before comparing to the DirecTV receiver with integrated 2-tuner TIVO. The DishNetwork 501/508 is impossible to hack to larger capacity, the menus suck, stability is generally poor IMO, and it has 1 less tuner! The Hughes DirecTIVO series 2 is...
My target ad this weekend said you get a free 2-liter bottle of coke when you buy HPCoS for $14.99. That must be worth a few bucks on ebay, really sweetening the deal, eh?
Remember that Brady Bunch episode where Cindy wanted to live by "exact words"? Kind of reminds me of this stupid CT law. Screw businesses into having to be extra explicit in their advertising (or run a completely different set for CT) because the consumers lack a shred of common sense or just...
$34.95/mo with $50 activation fee isn't much different than $39.95/month with no activation fee. Still, if it's available for existing customers without activation fee...
Didn't see any K7S5A pro at the Frys in Fremont yesterday. I agree, though - if you're settling for the K7S5A, you probably won't be overclocking so the 2000XP for $99 is (was, and will be again soon knowing Frys) a much better deal.
ZakPC, you should have gotten 2 sticks of DDR instead of 1 - with nForce motherboards, having a 2nd stick enabled the 2nd memory channel, giving you wicked fast memory access (which helps performance since the onboard video uses the same memory).
Well both of these printers have been working fine on my SMC7004 printer server port for the last year, and it has the same limitations. I just disabled bi-directional communication and it works fine, just doesn't tell me when my ink runs out, etc. I can't imagine why this print server would...
Anyone had any luck getting the print server to work? I'm trying to set it up with an HP 932C or 970Cxi and can't get either to work. Speedstream tech support wasn't much help but told me to try reinstalling the printer drivers with the printer directly connected to the PC, then switch it over...
Picked one up at my small local BB, $69.99 shelf tag, 2 left after me. Computer rang up as $114.99 but they adjusted it. Went back later for another 1 (for a friend) and shelf was empty, $69.99 tag was gone. Early bird gets the worm!
I've ordered 2 different refurb motherboards from newegg - 1 came in the original box with nothing else, the other was loose in a fedex box with nothing else. My favorite was the A7N266-C that newegg advertised as having onboard sound - good luck getting any of that sound out without the damn...
Make sure you take a good look at all of those little "extras" like the firewire and USB ports, etc. - you won't get any of them if you buy a newegg refurb! Seriously, I wonder what newegg does with all of those parts? They must have a huge bin full of them...
Actually, as a volunteer tax preparer while in the military, I learned straight from the IRS that you CAN deduct the depreciation on a home PC if you use it to manage investments that earn taxable interest. So if you have an e*trade account and some stock, or a mutual fund that you can trade...
Does Quicken Basic 2003 really have a $29.95 rebate or is it just for the purchase price? I think in previous years they just reimbursed the purchase price, so Amazon's better price is sort of N/A.
The 10% worked for me this morning, but now that I'm actually trying to place the order it stopped working. Tried clearing cookies and all that jazz. Is everyone else having the same problem?
The multistate version does let you install multiple states, but you have to pay something like $20 for each state after the first one. You used to be able to get away with installing 1 state on 1 PC, then installing a different state on a 2nd PC (after installing the full TurboTax, of course)...
This place is supposed to be some kind of online mall for other retailers. I went straight to bhwarehouse.com and they have it for $5.99 but shipping is MUCH CHEAPER! To CA only $2.56. I have a Dishplayer 7200 and this looks like my exact remote. I needed one, too, because my rabbit ate the...
Bite your tongue! CrapolaUSA is not remotely in the same league as Frys. Frys has the most liberal return policy of any tech retailer, while crapusa's restock fee on all opened items is a joke. Plus Frys' regular prices are considerably better than crapusa's - only sale items even come close...
You rock! This deal kicks bootay! Awesome find!
Seriously, though - I've had this damn box sitting in my pile of Anandtech finds since July or something. If you've been around since Nov 2000 how did you miss this one?
Newegg is dragging behind, but tcwo, nutrend, etc have slashed prices! Check pricewatch for the latest developments. Everyone must be getting ready for the Thoroughbreds in different clock speeds. Fellow CA residents, tcwo is the place to shop (no sales tax, good response, reasonable...
It looks like everyone's slashing prices on AMD processors - tcwo, newegg, nutrend, etc. Must be about to get the Thoroughbreds in various clock speeds. Think I'll hold out for the real bargains...
Expect to get a completely bare mobo in an anti-static bag - anything beyond that and you'll be extremely lucky. And then you get to see if the thing actually works! I don't think I'll even bother with that part - sounds like the odds aren't too good anyways.
Well, at least they didn't give me a hard time with the RMA. Still, seems like a waste of everyone's time (theirs and mine) so I probably won't bother trying that again. ECS K7S5A, here I come!
I received my Asus A7N266-C yesterday and it looks ok but is COMPLETELY BARE. How can they advertise this board as having onboard sound? Sure there's a sound chip on the board, but there aren't ANY jacks to get it out of the board without the riser card! Maybe I should just start drilling...
I had a similar problem when helping a friend build a system with the ECS mb. Gave up and told him the board was dead until I got it to POST with only the HD, no other IDE devices. Then I found a hint somewhere that said not to let the BIOS auto-detect the other IDE devices, just force them...
I picked one of these up at CrapUSA a few months ago for $30 - $30 rebate. Rebate came really fast. Unfortunately, it isn't very useful in my experience. I guess if you play a game with really complicated keystroke combinations you could program macros and bind it to one of the buttons...
I had a friend order this power supply from a2zcomp.com and it was some total piece of crap non-ATX 2.03 no-name junk. I went back to their site using the original link from this thread and the page still stands saying "enlight 400W". Funny thing is, I found ANOTHER page on their site with...
So has anyone with a tracking number actually had theirs ship? "Billing Information Received" doesn't mean squat. Mine is supposed to be delivered today (6/20) but since it hasn't actually been scanned anywhere, I doubt it has actually left the warehouse.
