I have Debian 2.2r3, kernel 2.4.16 and a Netgear FA310TX. I took my box home with me over Christmas break, and during that time I wiped my FreeBSD partition and repartitioned/reinstalled Linux (to take up the FreeBSD space). Anyway, now I'm back at school and can't get on the internet in linux...

pppd dies with Linux kernel 2.4.16 (but works fine with 2.2.16)

Alright, I got PPP working right now, but now a new problem: XMMS. XMMS is installed, but it won't play any MP3s. If i go to Preferences, there are no Input plugins listed (libOSS is the only Ouput plugin, which is fine). Why weren't any Input plugins built / how do I get libmpg123 plugin?

Computer beeps and power light blinks after a few hours...?

Models in Q3 & RTCW are messed up (Linux)

Linux locks up hard (no mouse, no ctrl-alt-del)...

Trouble installing Wine

I downloaded the .deb for Wine and when I tried to install it, got a dependancy error about xbase-clients (>=4.0). I'm running X 4.1.0, so I would've thought that was already installed... anyone know anything about this error/where I can get xbase-clients?

No sound in Linux...

i've finally figured out what it is: the computer wasn't loading the modules (au8830) at startup. For the time being the sound will work if i do 'insmod au8830' each time... how can i get it to auto insert the module?

If you read the forums alot you'll know that I recently had some trouble with my sound, well that's all fixed but now I have a new problem: I was installing nVidia's reference drivers for Linux and now can't get into X. Funny thing is, right after I installed them I restarted X and it worked...

No sound in Linux...

Sound works fine, but only as root... (thus the kernel is setup right and all of that good stuff). But for some odd reason (I would assume permissions) the sound won't work for non-root users.

Problems with X 4.0.2

It's a Microsoft IntelliEye/IntelliMouse... it's USB but has a PS/2 adapter, which it's plugged into right now. I know it will work with Linux, because I used to have RedHat on this machine and it worked with that. I was wondering if /dev/mouse is pointing to the right place (the ps/2 port)...

Trouble installing Debian
