How to disable Adobe in IE?

How does one prevent internet explorer from automatically downloading and opening a PDF file? For example, I click on a link which I do NOT know is a PDF file. I am not given the option to SAVE the file. Instead, it is automatically downloaded and then Adobe PDF opens up in a seperate window...

Windows 7 - Run as Administrator?

Recently upgraded to Windows 7. Quick question. If I am using user account that is part of the Administrator usergroup (and therefore has administrator privelages), why do I still need to run programs with the "Run as Administrator" option? Should it not always run every program as...

Best DRAM frequency for i7-920 @ 3.33 ghz?

Anybody using Asus' Turbo V utility with Windows 7 64 bit?

Can't seem to get Turbo V to open after I install it. The installation goes normally, but when I open it, nothing appears. Any ideas?

Nevermind. Got it to work. Don't know how but it works, lol. Did not need to set the local security settings in windows 7. What I did was reset my sharing options. I hanged to home network in win 7, turned off password, turned on public folder sharing, and kept default homegroup settings. I was...

Herald and Jack, Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I am running Windows 7 Home so apparently I don't have the ability to access local security policy. It doesn't appear in my control panel. I suspect it may have to do with the NTLM your link described. As for the guest account issue...

Jack, I managed to access the sharing tab on the folder and set the permission for the default "Guest" account. I enabled the guest account and set the password. This is on the computer running Windows 2000. Problem is, I am trying to access that shared folder from a laptop that is running...

Anybody still remember Windows 2000?

Got a question regarding file and print sharing in Windows 2000. I installed the File and Print sharing service for my LAN connection. I rebooted, yet I cannot see the "sharing" tab when I right-click any folder. Any clues?

Fan Model/Speed/CFM Rec for Prolimatech Megahalem?

Any recommendation for fan speed/CFM for the Prolimatech Megahalem? I was thinking of using one (1) Scythe S-flex 120 mm fan, either 1200 or 1600 RPM. System is an i7-920 with plans to overclock to just 3.4 ghz max.

Been considering this heatsink/fan combo and reading some reviews. This revision comes with 2 fans. My question is, anybody see a noticeable difference between running 1 and 2 fans? Judging from the review on Testfreaks.com, there doesn't seem to be much difference.

Well if it's an image imbedded in the email, it's probably disguised as a banner or an icon or something. So next question is, how to block it? My only guess would be to track down where the image is being pulled from and block it.

Does anybody know exactly how do these services are able to tell if you OPENED your email or not? It claims to work even with web-based email services, such as Hotmail and Yahoo. It seems to have the capability of doing it automatically.Maybe embedding some code in the email...
