    BOINC Pentathlon 2022

Hmm, "Einstein@Home | No work is available for Gamma-ray pulsar binary search #1 on GPUs" does make it a slow process queueing Einstein-work... By my recollection the other type of GPU-wu's are FUBAR and wherefore not an option. But, on CPU, is where any kind of pros/cons between the 3...

    BOINC Pentathlon 2022

Hmm, I can't see any linked guides for creating a second bunker, let alone creating 14 different bunkers... Besides, if creating separate bunkers somehow includes running multiple BOINC-instances, would guess trying to keep track of 14 different instances would very quickly get really...

Congrats on silver overall. After seeing the final standing in Javelin Throw this category's scoring-method finally made some sense. To remember this for next years Pentathlon on the other hand...

Can't figure out what e-mail I used for BOINC in the past, any way someone can help me find this info?

Unless you've completely removed BOINC on all your computers, in you're on windows you can try using File Explorer and opening-up \programdata\boinc (programdata is a hidden directory) and you should have one account_project_url.xml per project. If you open-up one of these...

Ah, yes, I'll definitely use this suggestion instead of the confusing and overly complicated stick-throwing contest. Hello, Assimilator1. A little bored with corona-lockdowns, but apart for this thinks are ok. Oh, and I've still not learned correct usage of then and...

    Info 11th BOINC Pentathlon 2020

Hello, good to see some of the old-timers are still active. It's been close to 3 years since my last visit. Now if I start using post-it notes with "password is..." or "email is..." maybe it won't take another 3 years until next time...

    Call to Arms - Rally for a 4 Day Sprint on project Seti@Home June 9th - 12th

Well seeing I did have one pending result it's not so long since last ran SETI... :innocent: Now is it just my imagination, or have something happened to these forums - since I can't remember it was possible to just choose from a list of smilies last time was here. ... or rather...

Go into your Rosetta-preferences and change "Target CPU run time" to 1 hour, save and afterwards hit "update" in your BOINC-client. Note, this setting take effect when a task starts, not as it's downloaded, meaning you can change the run-time on all work already cached on client and not yet...

    7. BOINC Pentathlon 2016

Yes, but this shouldn't be a problem, since in BOINC returning results is a two-step process with 1st. being uploading of result-file(s) and 2nd. being reporting of result. Suspending a project blocks the reporting and because of this as far as the project goes you've not returned anything yet...

    7. BOINC Pentathlon 2016

Bunkering different BOINC-projects are fairly easy, the easy method is to just Suspend project-1 while you're asking for work from Project-2 and as you've filled-up with work from Project-2, disable network and re-enable Project-1 again. A more advanced method is to use some firewall-rules to...

    7. BOINC Pentathlon 2016

Not for a single project, since if #uploads > 2x #cpu you can't ask for work from this project. That you can do on the other hand is to add/edit the following line to the <options>-part in cc_config.xml: <max_tasks_reported>1</max_tasks_reported> If you uses this line you will only report a...

    SETI@Home Wow!-Event 2015

Now 950 doesn't tell me anything, but having "validation pending" larger than "valid" isn't uncommon. Having pending larger than 2x valid on the other hand is less common. SETI doesn't care if a Nvidia is paired with a CPU or an Amd or an Intel, or for that matter if one is using Linux and...

Hmm, the "join team"-link includes a timestamp and some other not sure what it's supposed to be before at the end including the team-number... While it's maybe possible to make a valid link, just removing everything except the team-number does atleast not work since you gets an error-message...

    SETI@Home Wow!-Event 2015

Atleast for the Ati/AMD-applications where shouldn't be any differences, because it's the same persons what's compiled the official and the Lunatics-applications. For CPU where's a big difference in the log-files between standard and Lunatics, but atleast as far as I can see where's little...

9th Annual Holiday Season Folding@Home race

Nothing new and neither saving-up for a dump, with FAH's point-system this isn't really a possibility. A bad hd lead to roughly 4 days pause in FAH-crunching. To compensate for this downtime used my main computer for the last 4 days of the race.

What are your 2015 DC goals?

My goal for 2015 is to get a bronze badge in the "Outsmart Ebola Together"-project, the latest of World Community Grid's sub-project. Since a bronze badge is only 14 days of crunching this doesn't look like a large or difficult goal, but due to the severe lack of work and uncertain how long the...

9th Annual Holiday Season Folding@Home race

A faster GPU should help a little, but games can still screw-up things. For non-game-usage on the other hand, many modern cpu's includes a low-end GPU. While this GPU can't be used for crunching FAH, it should have no problems handling non-game windows-usage, so just connect your monitor to...

    Dumpimg Boinc

One of the great things about BOINC is, it's open-source so if you hit on a client-feature you absolutely hate, you can just take the source-code, change the relevant part and build your own client. For the wast majority of users on the other hand, using the normal BOINC-client with the...

9th Annual Holiday Season Folding@Home race

AFAIK collection server for Amd-GPU's never shows a valid number, since AFAIK FAH has never had a collection-server for these cards. In any case, since I love a race, count me in with folding-name Baldurs_Gate. Since the old i7-920 crapped-out I've for the moment only replaced it with a...

boinc - apparent "CPU is busy" error

If my recollection isn't too fuzzy there was multiple forum-threads on various BOINC-projects about this new preference warning users about the limit not being zero, around the time this was introduced in the BOINC-clients. As for needing such a setting, while any BOINC-application should in...

The Annual Holiday Season Foldin@Home race

Hmm, not sure why I missed the 1st. race, but a quick look reveals this was 2005 and at the same-time I took part in the so-called Folding@home/BOINC "beta-test"... BTW, was there no race in 2006? You need to run at least 10 wu's with the passkey before you'll get any bonus-points, but if...

    Seti Processes killing Chrome

BOINC rounds-down to the nearest integer-core-count, meaning 75% - 99% will all use only 3 cores on a quad-core. To only use 2 cores on a quad-core, specifying 74% will be enough.

This would normally indicate a buggy client, unfortunately where's been a few of these even among the "recommended" versions. Hmm, I've also got an Ati-5850, but did never get it to work very well crunching. Now I've not tested the seti-v7-application under this card, but atleast with previous application if ran 2 sooner or later one of the tasks seemed to get stuck and just increasing run-time, so I wouldn't recommend...
