tv out... black and white only???

well, i have tried both composite and s-video, plus a few different s-video cables to no avail. i am going to try my girlfriend's tv sometime today as well. the other thing is... there aren't any jumpers (because it is a laptop) and the BIOS doesn't have any settings! the thing that is weird...

yeah... this is what is driving me nuts! it is clearly set to NTSC-M in the settings! i even tried a few PAL settings... no avail! i was also able to choose region, and the same problem when i chose united states! i can only wonder if there is a bug or something... but i can't really find...

the fry's i went to in Palo Alto looked like it had been there a while (looked like it had been built in the 60s-70s), plus it had a western theme! (i guess they all have different themes) the point is, i don't think fry's is expanding very much

yeah... tivo makes watching tv worthwhile... basically you can watch 1.5 hrs in 1 hour. i got mine for $90 from wal-mart i am afraid mine is going to die plus i have a roommate, so we just split the monthly cost.

i just scanned mine and it came up as 99.99 (14 hour). it was open so i asked the manager to take off 10%, and he was cool w/ that. when i got it home, it kept rebooting, so i RMAed mine today. kind of a pain in the neck, but i think getting a tivo for ~110 is still a hot deal.

there are no tivos at walmart in the cincinnati area. i had the manager do a 150 mile search radius. i got a 14 hour one for $90 and it is broken. i am rma-ing it for a new one. sigh... no tivo for a week or four (i've heard bad things about their service)

you can hack ethernet onto the TiVo, then download the listings from tvguide, parse it and encrypt it, then update the TiVo with it. avsforums.com will probably tell you how to do it.
