I mean, there is no reasoning with these people, one untruth after another...we are truly doomed as a nation...

How long will the GOP be able to scare their base with the bogeyman? The irony is that the low income GOPers will need these immigrants to pay for their Social Security benefits...
Seems like this will go though, not sure if its good or bad, but i might not travel first class anymore!

Tucker Carlson Makes Wild Claim in Deaths of Tyre Nichols, Ashli Babbitt (msn.com)
Fox News host Tucker Carlson has claimed that deceased Capitol rioter Ashli Babbitt was "murdered" by police, while denouncing those who were "weeping" over the fatal police beating of Tyre Nichols.

So, GOP will regulate teachers because we know they can't be trusted to do the right thing with their students. However, the police have carte blanche with little oversight because they will do the right thing??
So what happened if your not guilty you have nothing to fear??isn't that the mantra they preach?? you mean someone might misinterpret info based on bias or an agenda??no!!so many hypocrites on both sides..the dems don't seem to have fallen as far as the gop but they might one day...
Poll: 56 percent of GOP voters say Biden won the 2020 election by voter fraud | TheHill
Staggering, predictable, outrageous, etc..These people won't accept anyone winning except for their candidates.. FACISM.
Listen, I get playing to your base but who in gods name thinks this is a good idea? This is literally the most outrageous thing a politician has done in my recent memory, even Trump with all his chaos doesn't match this!!
i also saw the texas gop and national gop blaming frozen wind turbines for the blackouts..i always wonder how dumb people can be and they keep exceeding my expectations..

Just amazing to me, he did see that there were law enforcement and military involved in the riot, right? This idea that the military and police are 'above reproach' is offensive.

By bye cruise industry.. I'm sure it will resurface in the future but in what form?

I am sympathetic and agree with your points however it seems kind of hopeless to expect this country let alone the world to change the way you suggest. Locally grown produce cannot feed the world, the farm technologies over the past century are the reason we are able to feed the world. I agree...
Really, maybe you can explain how the planet is dying..and by the way, without a functioning society, your covid-19 wouldn't even be a blip on the radar..
While I do not agree, I can relate the protesters that want to get back to work, many people's livelihoods are collapsing quickly..one thing I can not relate to is the religious people who want to go to church and feel like their religious liberties are being suppressed. Since we are stopping...
The other problem is that even if you keep them afloat temporarily what is the new normal? restaurants can't survive at 50% capacity or people wearing masks for the next year until a vaccine comes out.. I guess there need to be some guidelines handed down from somewhere.
I did not realize the economic impact the foodservice industry has on our economy. It looks like only the terrible restaurants will survive the pandemic. Even when they ope up the economy how will restaurants look? I see a future of mediocre food or high prices for good food.

It seems like a real death spiral to me..people don't spend money, business fail, a business that relies on those businesses suffer, layoffs and they fail..terrible situation.
I was just wondering what happens to our consumer-driven economy after the lockdown? restaurants and bars? how long before people go back? travel? sports? retail? luxury goods? the list goes on..not to mention to impact to local and state budgets with no income...how many small businesses can...

Great article, wonder why ideas like this never hit the mainstream? maybe someday?
The first policy—price tags
The second policy—deductible security
another irony is that the people typically supporting trump will probably depend heavily on social security for retirement and one of the ways to offset future issues in ss is would be immigrants joining the workforce and paying ss tax...
