One for graphics forum, perhaps...but figured I was more interested in reseller information rather and specific performance issues.
The A3 revision GPU is comparable to having a GO stepping CPU. For the most part they run cooler, can handle higher overclocks and are more stable than their...
If you did - was it a revision A3 GPU? If you were one of the lucky ones please share where you bought it...
(any software such as RivaTuner will tell you what rev GPU you have, chances are it is either B3 or A3 on the 8800gts)
Is it a fair assumption that the 8800GTS cards that come "superclocked" (overclocked) from the manufacturer with full warranty might be the revision A3 GPUs?
Well - there are windows apps that will tell you what rev you have...
Let me rephrase the question - has anyone purchased an 8800GTS and been lucky enough to receive one wih an A3 rev? If yes - where did you buy it? If several people name the same store then I'd try my luck there...
I would go with the Quad Q6600 instead, as you suggest. It out performs the C2D E6850 according to tom's hardware benchies.
With gaming in mind - anyone disagree?
I have narrowed it down to 2 cpus.
1) Northwood B: Intel P4 3.06GHz 533MHz 478 pin
or
2) Northwood C: Intel P4 2.8GHz 800MHz 478 pin
My intentions are to overclock it, and I'm not sure which fsb speed (533 vs 800) will give me a better overclock. I'm also looking for any...
Hey guys, I've looked for the answer but can't seem to one...so..I'll ask you.
Are there motherboards capable of running 2 pairs of RAM in Dual Channel mode? I have 2x512 ram and 2x256 ram. If the mobo has 4 slots, can I pair them up so that both pairs run in dual channel? Or does it not work...
Ya, I was gonna try 1 stick of PC3200 and the PC3500 stick...see what happens. I'm also going to try increasing the voltage...
EDIT: Ok, it recognizes both the PC3200 and the PC3500 just fine. Problem is only when I add that 3rd stick. Note sure what else to do - I'm stumped that CPU-Z...
Yes, that is the configuration I am using right now. I have also tried the two (slower) PC3200 sticks in slots 1 and 2 and the (faster) PC3500 stick in slot 3.
Same result - BIOS will only recognize the two PC3200 sticks.
I have an Albatron PX845PE ProIIS(Silver) motherboard, and it has the following configuration for RAM:
DDR Sockets:
DDR400/333/DDR266 unbuffered /None-ECC DDR SDRAM up to 2GB( DIMM1 uses 2 Banks/ DIMM2 & DIMM3 share 2 Banks )
I have 2 x Corsair XMS 512MB PC3200 sticks (matched pair) and...
In that case...What would be a good tool to benchmark which configuration is better; either only using 2 sticks in dual-channel (1gig of RAM total) or using all 3 sticks and no dual-channel, but having 1.5gigs of RAM total.
could 3DMark do it?
-I have a mobo w/ 3 RAM slots.
-I have 2 x OCZ 512mb PC3200 ram (2 identical sticks)
-I have 1 x OCZ 512mb PC3200 ram
Question:
I wish to setup the 2 identical sticks with dual-channel, but still use the remaining 3rd in my system. Does the configuration of these three sticks matter? I...
Just recently, my optical usb MS intellimouse 4.0 mouse will randomly die on me, so I have to unplug/reply to fix the problem, and it is getting really tedious to do this constantly. The ONLY thing I can think of that might have caused this is that I recently started using a USB flash drive, so...
P4 2.8GHZ
Albatron PX845PE ProIIs (Max AGP 4x)
I plan to upgrade my card so I can play HL2/Doom3 with all the eye candy on.
128MB or 256MB?
Note: I'm going to pick up the new 256-bit version for EITHER card.
You'll be fine so long as the date on your receipt (showing you paid in full) is between 5/23 and 5/26, so if you've special ordered it you might be ok.
Hey guys, quick question:
I assume most of the new vid cards (Radeon 9800 etc) can make use of the AGP 8x, and I don't assume that they make the 4x versions of the same card for cheaper?
Is this correct?
Also - just to be sure, an AGP 8x will run on my MOBO, though at the slower 4x speed...
Hey guys, picked my drive up today - I had it special ordered but I had to go in a couple times because although the computer said they had them they couldn't find em! Thanks to Luis (one of the CC reps), who went back and looked for himself, I got my drive!
Well, I just picked one up today. My CC was all out..but the customer service lady said they had about 97+ on their way so she sold me one. I'll go in wednesday and pick it up and get my rebate forms. At least now I won't have to fight off customers to get my hands on one of these drives when...
WOW!
I just visited my local CC in Miami, FL...no luck :( This deal doesn't end until a weak from today (Sunday 29th) I suppose I'll have to keep checking back in order to get my hands on one. Anyone else with any better luck?
Ok, I found the problem...I discovered that chatting on AOL Instant Messenger a LOT (for an hour or two) would bog down my entire system. All I need to do is reload the program to release the resources.
I've got the latest copy of AIM, and I never would've thought it would have such a memory...
