Acer came out with a bios update that may fix this problem. I flashed mine last night and will check the drain in a couple of days.
(I sent mine back for repair hoping they would fix it 6 months ago but was told it was normal!)

Ahhh, now I know why Dell's prices on laptop batteries are going up in price! They've just issued a HUGE recall - why not jack up the price on the batteries and take advantage of people looking to get a backup!
Does Dell ever run deals on laptop batteries?
Want to buy the 9 cell pack for my Inspiron 6000 - Dell's site is now showing it as $167!!
It was $129 a couple of weeks ago.
Any deals out there on replacement batteries, OEM from Dell ??
I'm not interested in 3rd party, or older non-fresh...
Ditto here, I've bought about 10 of them, 5 are my own, one of which is an HTPC. All have worked fine out of the box. I do make sure the Fry's employee doesn't try and give me a returned MB - one time they said "we ran out" when in fact there was a stack of about 50 new ones in plain view...
I'm one of those. Absolutely cannot get it to work on my Athlon Sempron 2400+ with ECS k7VTA3 MB. Even tried using the USRobotics drivers as mentioned on DSLReports and still cannot get it to work.
Yes, I tried the new drivers on Netgear's website too.
Can't return it - already cut out...
I have a few server cases I bought used that don't have front panel USB or audio jacks.
Looking for something that will fit in a 3.5" or 5.25" drive bay that has USB jacks, audio jacks too would be great, that would plug into my motherboard's existing USB and audio jacks.
Essentially I want...
The OC Register online stopped carrying the Fry's ads. Really bummed because their ads were much larger on the OC Register site than on the LA Times site or paper. Sometimes even the items shown were different.
Real drag. . . . .

Damn, I just bought this yesterday (6/5).
Plus it is OOS for me, and the rebate says it must be postmarked within 14 day of sale. Wonder if I'd even get in within 14 days.
Are there any 'serious' issues with 2.0 RC3? I'm running 1.4 and don't want to miss out on any recordings. Setup is Duron 900, PVR250MCE, 120GB HD, USB-UIRT blasting a DISHnetwork receiver.
Thanks,
DAMNIT!
I sent back my Rosyln card to Z-Buy after calling them, confirming they had 32552 cards in stock and getting an RMA number.
Today I get an email saying "We do not have any HA32552 on stock. We will give you full refund for this item, and also we will give you postage refund."
This is...
I found my emails from their customer service rep that explicitly states I would be getting the "same exact card" as before.
Let's see if they make good on this.
I'm pissed!
I emailed them a week after I placed my second order asking "Where is it?"
They replied they were out of stock, but could ship me a different card that didn't work under linux now. I said I would wait because "I wanted the SAME card I had before". I didn't want any issues running...
Are you sending the output to a TV? How does the quality look?
Right now I am viewing it on my PC monitor and the picture quality sucks (pixelization), plus very slow response.

I bit the bullet - bought the NEC, the 50pk of Riteks, and threw in the free 5pk of DVD-R. Figure with the Fedex Economy shipping being free on it all, this makes the deal even sweeter.
Then I went off to go find out how to make my DVD's from my BTV or SageTV recordings. How confusing...
I read something about "Remember to add free 5pk 4x DVD-R discs with your order"
Where is this? (nevermind, found it in the "customer appreciation gift" section, item N82E16800999458 )
Is this "THE" DVDr drive to get?
Does Newegg have any good deals on blanks to toss in with this order?
Well in the past day and a half, I've tried Snapstream's BeyondTV and SageTV in a Duron 950Mhz system with 512MB Ram, 120GB 7200RPM hd, USB-UIRT, PVR250.
- BTV was un-useable. The response to inputs was too slow and the 'live tv' had abouta 1 second delay in the audio relative to the video. It...
I had problems running my gear media 8-n-4 2.0 card reader through this card (purchased card from FRY's). Worked fine when I replace the ALI chipset card with an NEC one however.
Has composite video in, S-video in, rt and lt audio in, TV RF in, FM RF in.
Anyone know what the 'lowliest' computer I can use for Sage or BTV?
I'm looking at the 60W an Athlon 2600+ uses and I really don't want to pay $10 more a month just in electricity to power my PC to record shows...
What's out there that is reliable, inexpensive and plays VCD's/SVCD's from CD-R and CD-RW's?
I'm planning on putting a Tivo clone together and want to archive shows.
Dave
They got back to me pretty quick after sending them an email just this morning and I sent two other clarification emails to them later today and both were answered within an hour. I'm very impressed with their customer service!
Dave
Here it is. I suspect the USB-UIRT is the same thing except that author added USB support (maybe using a FTDI chip).
