Cheap used games at Hollywood Video's Gamecrazy

Used Final Fantasy Anthology for $29.99. Nuff said. :D Okay maybe not enough... they had awesome selection even though I went in there a week or two after it opened. Great prices on other stuff, and as much selection as every other game store that has been open for years. k2

any flat panel speaker recommendations?

hey i'm building a box for a friend for school, dorm room style, so i need some speakers for her, and she just "has" to have flat panel ones, so does anyone have any good/bad experiences? I haven't looked around a lot but there don't seem to be many different brands that make them... monsoon...

Best 17'' LCD for Gaming?

wow, i haven't posted in a while, anyhow... I'm gonna throw in my vote for the Samsung 170T (as i always do in these threads, when I find them), bought it in june/july, absolutely beautiful monitor, I love it to death, FPSes work just fine, there is slight ghosting when your framerate dips...

sprockkets: in order to get rear sound that is not just a mirror of the front sound, you need the CNR card, or a DD decoder. To make a long story short...that's just how it is, and it's been confirmed by a representative of MSI in the msi forums. k2

ftp4you: via the msi forums, the board has worked marginally with linux, there are no drivers for the integrated stuff and as it's totally new, there are no previous drivers to hack up to make it work. However, linux has been running with the board... you'll have to check the msi forums...

MS releases mother of all IE security patches - download "immediately"

Umm, I did windows update "scan" in XP, and this didn't show up. I've also been choosing not to install the Messenger update, but I doubt that would have anything to do with it; I installed the patch manually. Anyone else have this issue in XP? k2

that's a [i]very[i] subjective question rdp... personally the stereo placement on UT (btw, if you want some hardcore UT-ing and you're at Purdue, pm me! my server rawks!!!) isn't what I'd want it to be, but I don't really have much of a reference because the last system i played UT on had ac97...

my receiver can do ds3d without dolby digital, if I select "dolby surround" the receiver says it is getting a pcm stream rather than a DD stream, and still outputs 4.1 channels... as i don't know what format those speakers use I can't tell you if that'll work, but that's what I know... hope it...

have you done the "breathe heavy on it and wipe with t-shirt" trick? I've done this (bot the scratch and the trick) to my samsung 170t, and it works fine for me. k2

That's why we're banking on the "consoles-are-always-stable" xbox <--> nforce correlation. Regardless, I'm waiting at least a month after it comes out, if not until the second hardware revision. k2

Faster RAM-DAC --> better 2d image quality?

Hi... I'm sure someone has answered this before, but I can't find it... so... What's the correlation between performance/quality of a graphics card, and the speed of the ram-dac? The one thing that discourages me is that the nforce has a 300mhz ramdac whereas the piddly little quadro2mxr...
