i have the serial number and IMEI, but how do i get the guy in possession of a stolen iphone to just give out the serial number. If i scare him away he'll just disappear.

i called the local police. they said that without a serial number or identifying mark there was nothing they could do. i'm hoping that the case is the exact style and color of my stolen phone since that is probably sufficient, and that this guy will tell me what the case looks like before we meet.

anyone tried to buy an iphone at contract price without a contract

so if you go to bestbuy or wallmart to buy an iphone and say you'll sign up for a contract how do they know? what if you forget to sign up for service and just unlock the phone accidentally? does that work?

yeah, showing non-approved modes managed to work out. it just wasn't part of the default settings. cheers

yea, good call malak, i found a new video card to use. i guess you're not supposed to have 2 gigs of ram and a 2.6 gig P4 with a 16 mb video card...

fixed thanks keithp solution - display modes that are "unsupported" pick a mode that should work. upgraded from Vista Pro to Windows 7 Pro, and now i can only do 1024 resolution, when i was previously able to to 1280 resolution. I know my video card is really old, but windows 7 and...

windows xp to vista upgrade error

windows xp anti-virus disabled internet disconnected. when i put in the vista DVD (i want to do an upgrade) i get an generic various error messages. One of them says setup.exe - bad image. the applicaion or dll is not a valid windows image. please chekc against your isntallation...

edit: firxed via jumper settings. doh. i purchased a new SATA drive, to replace to IDE hard drives (4 year old system, that i will be upgarding) at first i had posted here asking how to convert IDE to SATA but then i realized a much better solution would be to just use the SATA connector...

Need wireless solution for desktop

i just purchased a ZyXEL for 23.99 AR from amazon, but the thing causes my windows XP to freeze. stay away from that brand. perhaps... i like that it came with a 3 ft USB cable though so you can position it for better reception.

cant get my valve stem covers off

Somewhat false - what you have described is a digital zoom resulting in a loss of 60% of the detail. crop factor is an optical zoom affect whereby the middle part of the picture is in more detail. What you have described would be true if you compared a 20 MP full frame camera that was...

i'm looking into the Canon XS / XSi but i dont understand when to apply the corp factor. Rephrased question: Does the 1.6 x magnification factor also apply when using an EF lens? If i have an ASP-C sensor do i just multiply every lens distance by 1.6 My first question was answered...
