Question Is there really any need for Intel to keep AVX-512 alive now?

AVX-512 is designed to improve net performance and perf/power, which it both succeeds in doing. And as for Skylake-X AVX-512, it only down clocks the core that is using AVX-512. Intel has had per core clocking since Broadwell Server, to improve consistency in virtualized scenarios.

Question Are the ethernet ports on all routers completely passthrough?

Never had ATT I take it? Their router/gateway adds about 4-6ms of latency.

The 7250 is only 50w. If it has a big enough heatsink you could use some really weak fans to cool it. Do you want minimum noise or no fans at all?

I think they did, either they or Toshiba used it for medical imaging. You could actually buy PCI-E add in cards from HP I think.

Question Windows 10 does not load up SSDs on CPU Lanes.

Any idea how? Switching to AHCI seems to remove the iRST storage controller driver, but the drive still isn't installed. With AHCI set, iRST crashes on startup. But I tried it on the other install, and it shows it as having enhanced SATA drivers

Wat? They might be using an access VLAN on that switchport. But there's also chips that do both switching and routing, in which case every port belongs to the router. You missed the part where the manufacturer would have to explain to end users how VLANs work though. That's not something...
