Both drives are the same. Western Digital are just charging more money for the Raptor X because they believe there are a few guys out there who will be watching their expensive hard disk in action alot. I have a Lian Li PC 7077 and I don't have the side window so there is no way I am...

    LCD for gaming

The Acer AL1922 uses the Fujitsu LCD panel which I think is 8bit. The response time is 8ms typical. http://www.acer.com.hk/english/product/al2-s.html

    Compaq X1000?

Well I ordered the 40GB hard disk but dell offered a free upgrade to 60GB 4200 RPms. It is okay as I planned to sell it anyway and the 60GB is worth more than the 40GB hard disk. I sold the 60GB 4200 RPms to a local store and paid extra for the 60GB 7200 RPms. It was money well spent. The...

Northwood 3.06Ghz with HT and with Granite Bay (Results!!!!)

I better remove that. That was from my previous system with the Asus P4PE. I was too quick to just change the motherboard info and forgot about the memory part. I was using the Asus P4PE previously. sorry guys.

I don't think it is all that bad. However, I think the Gigabyte 8INXP will be a better board.

Northwood 3.06Ghz with HT and with Granite Bay (Results!!!!)

The voltages are nice. IN the bios the CPU vcore is 1.55V (which is just accurate). The northwood 3.06ghz runs at 1.55V by the way. However, the Asus PC Probe shows a reading of 1.63V sometimes and then drops to 1.56V and then goes back up to 1.61V or 1.63V.

No I am going to keep this one. I have so many people asking me to selling them my board. I will not. I know that the retail board will be selling for $250. At least that is the price that we are told here in Hong Kong.

Northwood 3.06Ghz with HT and with Granite Bay (Results!!!!)

Trust me, Granite Bay is not all that what we thought it would be. I am not all the impressed. We are better of using the INtel 845PE motherboard which costs half as much as the Granite Bay and you don't even need to buy two sticks of rams. I have 2 sticks of 512megs Corsair XMS 3500 CAS2.

Granite Bay performance: Should we be concerned?

Ok now I understand why I am having a problem with my Radeon 9700 and Asus P4G8X (Sample). I have been having lots of lock ups in games and also my display all of a sudden gets all messed up. I disabled AGP Fast writes by using the Smartgart utility and it sort of solved the problem. Hmmmm!!!

    Northwood 3.06Ghz benchmark results!!!!!

That is why I wonder why even bother looking at the GeforceFX 5800 Ultra when the Radeon 9700 is pretty good already. We should just stop visiting hardware sites from now on and don't bother about the new hardware releasing soon. Just wait for games and get on with our daily lives. Either...

    Northwood 3.06Ghz benchmark results!!!!!

I bought it yesterday for $650. I will not overclock it so soon. No point to do that now. I want the excitement to last longer. I think the Northwood 3.06Ghz is not worth the price tag. Just my opinion. HT does nothing for games for now and a similar AthlonXP 2700+ with the nForce...

    1GB of Corsair XMS3500 = smooth sailing @ 392mhz!

Yeah! About 18300 3DMark or something. I am not too bothered with that outdated benchmark tool. Seriously there really needs to be an updated version of 3DMark. May be after NV30 is released. Seems like a new 3dMark is released after Nvidia introduces a new card. For now I am going to...

I am also getting 1gig of Corsair 3500 Cas2 this week. My Corsair 3200 Cas2 run at 434mhz CL-2 no problem. Have you tried overclocking with your 1Gig of Corsair 3500 Cas2? I know it should run at 433mhz CL-2 at default. Have you tested this with 1gig of memory?

    Don't Buy Gigabyte GA-8PE667 Ultra!!

Yes, Gigabyte 8PE667 Ultra has problems running to sticks of DDR memory. However, that is only if you enable turbo mode. Disable turbo mode and the problem is gone. That is what I did. I am now using the Asus P4PE as it has better memory performance (2.66x divider). Regards, Manoj Mahtani

Whether you get the bios from Germany or from Taiwan it makes no difference. It is not like if you download the bios from Taiwan, your CMOS languange will be in Chinese. It makes no difference. Infact, all the bios are prepared from the Taiwan office.

I am in Hong Kong. I got them locally. PS. 1.95V seems high but my CPU temp when idle is about 34 degrees C and full load at 40 degrees C. I am using the Swiftech heatsink with Delta fan (8cm). I am also using a special thermal oil which is better than the Artic Silver 3.
