Question How to test AnandTech Storage Bench(ATSB)

You can’t. You would have to look through the reviews and reverse engineer the workloads.

    Question Kingdian 120/240GB entry-level M.2 NVMe PCI-E 3.0 x4 4-chan controller (prob. DRAM-less?) $24.99/$44.99 @ Newegg (3rd-party vendor)

Don’t bother with Chinese crap. It’s random NAND, usually lower grade with higher defect rate. Hence cheaper price, shorter warranty, and usually lower performance.

Question Are M.2 NVME drives reliable?

Failure rates should be similar. Get something with a long warranty and isn’t some Chinese knock off piece of crap. Ummm, “NVMe is really the same thing as an SSD?“ NVMe is a protocol. SSD is solid state drive...meaning any flash based drive....I think you meant same thing as a SATA SSD...

Question Problem with TRIM on SSDs

Does your board not have more than just two internal SATA ports? Seems strange to only have two internal ports... TRIM support depends on the USB controllers (and firmware) and driver used. Normally TRIM doesn’t work unless both support it.

    Question paranoid with ssd

Don’t move anything off the SSD. Those suggestions were back when SSDs were still in their infancy. It’s pointless to do them today. Doing them slows down your systems responsiveness overall.

Can I move a RAID array to another computer or VirtualBox?

What motherboard? If intel you should be able to just plug them into a similar or newer intel board and set the SATA mode to RAID, save and reboot and it should be detected.

Solved! 700GB in "Other" folders on 1TB HD

I'm not really following. Kinda lost after reading what you wrote. So, you manually placed those files there (without using an application?) to try to overwrite the free space and are surprised they are still there when they didn't delete themselves? That doesn't make sense. lol

New PCIe SSD slow speeds on Lenovo notebook

Nope, they may help, but for a clear CMOS you gotta remove the laptop's CMOS battery and press the power button for like 10-15 seconds. Place it back in, and then it will be reset.

New PCIe SSD slow speeds on Lenovo notebook

Try clearing the CMOS. That usually resets the PCIe link lane allocation and speed.

Is Raid 0 worth it for NVMe M.2 SSD?

Yep! Exactly. AMD is shaming intel hardcore with their new chipsets and performance with all these vulnerabilities coming to light.

Is Raid 0 worth it for NVMe M.2 SSD?

That is true. But, once you play with RAID, that changes. Intel Z series chipset motherboards don’t support VROC. This means they can’t implement firmware RAID over the PCIe slots that connect directly to the CPU, only the M.2 slots connected to the PCH. To RAID 0 two M.2 SSDs and (this is the...

Is Raid 0 worth it for NVMe M.2 SSD?

But then you can’t boot from the RAID array because it is a software RAID only at that point, without a special M.2 RAID card that is.

Solved! 700GB in "Other" folders on 1TB HD

After this, if you wanna push performance, i’d say to defrag while you sleep and you’re set. Ideally, I’d swap in an SSD the first chance I could get. For real man, longer battery, 15-30 second boot with responsiveness as soon as you see the desktop. It’s worlds difference for me. I have an...

Solved! 700GB in "Other" folders on 1TB HD

Not really. I usually do it 1-2x a month just because it takes like 2min on my system and why not? Lol

Solved! 700GB in "Other" folders on 1TB HD

What I’d suggest you do now is run these two commands to check for any corruption of windows files and if so, they can fix that too. This: SFC /scannow And this: Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/7808-use-dism-repair-windows-10-image.html

Solved! 700GB in "Other" folders on 1TB HD

Or you know, you could just boot Windows into safe mode or admin account or boot a Linux/ubuntu live CD/USB and just delete those two folders....They are trash. If you want, do a system image before. But after cleaning PCs for like 15 years now I'm sure deleting them shouldn't affect anything in...
