How to dispose hard drive data in my dying laptop?

I agree with the almost free tools but no one mentioned almost free....plus who knows what the government has "given" away with all the times they've been compromised. The methods to ensure destruction should depend on the value of the data and not what one thinks can or cannot be recovered...

Component cables, at least those from Nintendo, are out of stock until mid-December...literally, as that is coming from the Nintendo store. I'm not sure of any 3rd party component cables, but I'm looking as well. If people are looking for Wii's, talk to your TRU Manager or AM and butter them...

New e6300 setup - 2 days from buying

Why not dump the WD120 and the SATA->IDE connector and get a 320GB HD? Just a thought that would run through my mind. I am assuming that you are planning on OCing the chip (why get the DS3 if you are not?) and those lovely IDE cables only clog up the airways. Again, just a thought.

Overclocking my E6300

I used EasyTune to test the system and then the BIOS settings to make it permanent. It's quite handy for that, but not much more as far as tuning goes. Adjust, test, adjust, test, etc...all without rebooting - until you get to the breaking point. :)

E6300 overclockers unite!

Got it running (currently) on a DS3 with the OCZ-6400 RAM and sitting at ~2.6 on air. Not going to push it any further at this time due to the location of the machine. May push it more once I move it to the basement, after it is finished. I'll give the 100% stable at 2.5 since it ran prime...

I'm not a fan of either card....but if you're getting either card to brag about 3dMark05, which I thought favored ATI anyway, then you have too much $$ to play with. Come back with some BF2, Oblivion, etc..... results and compare the two. I pay little stock to anything other than gaming...
