Amazing how cheap these have gotten.
My company bought one for me back in the day for about $400.
I was thinking of selling it on ebay, not worth the listing fee...:(
So what the heck is a "Servicable Used Part" ?
I can't imagine that it would be a refurb if it has a Dec 05 build date.
Maybe it's a pull from an existing system? e.g.:customer wanted a different drive in a laptop order, IBM replaces and can't legally sell the pull as new.
Looks like it's quieter, more shock resistant and uses a diiferent platter density:
Anandtech article on the 7200.9 differences
BTW: Thanks for the heads up, I grabbed 10 for some PC's I'm building for a client. Cheaper than my distributor...
I doubt they'll match anymore at that price. The DG Fry's has it for $109 - $30 rebate. My guess is that, if they match, it will be for the local price of $79 and not the CA price.
Your best bet of PM'ing Fry's at BB, is to try it at the one around the corner on Butterfield.
Good luck, let us...
What does the store sticker in LA say? $99.99 ?
CHI Fry's sticker shows $109.99
When they had the sale it was for $89 - $30 rebate
I wonder if they're going to have higher sticker prices here than the other stores ( due to less competition, higher shipping rate, etc)?
I was in the Chicago Fry's last week and the store started looking empty. The sales guy said they're pulling items to stock the Atlanta store, he said it was cheaper to ship from Chicago than from CA. Kind of weird since I would think the stores get their shipments from regional warehouses...
Great find.
I grabbed a bunch of these when Fry's B&M had them . Looks like they'll be back in the stores again, maybe?
Also, this is a new rebate, the Fry's B&M rebate ended 7/31. I wonder if they'll honor this if I purchase one from Outpost when I just submitted one from the...
At these prices you're better off buying another drive and use it for a backup.
Wait il you fill up the drive. Have fun swapping 60+ tapes in and out :D
Much ado about nothing:
Deal - Nope, Fry's had the 250Gb for same price (AR) off and on the last few weeks..
Deskstar - Old IBM drives, no longer a problem. They should have killed off the name, so many wont forget...
Last week it was:
Amazon has Norton Antivirus 2004 Retail for $1.99 after rebate.
Now, Free AR, as long as you own a previous version or a competitive product.
Sorry for no link, but it has a bunch of refer info in it and I'm not sure how to get rid of it. Just got to www.amazon.com ->...
WHOA! Thanks for the heads-up, this is a phenominal deal.
Rushed over and bought 2 (one for my business). Sales guy didn't know anything about it as it wasn't in the flyer and there were none out on display. Made him go on-line to confirm, he grabbed them from the back and off I went.
New to this PVR stuff and I'm a bit confused, I don't see support for any of the HDTV tuner cards
Am I corect in assuming they don't support them yet? If not, anybody know if and when?
I may not have a complete grasp of what it would take to support HDTV, but in my opionion HDTV...
Mine now says "Deleted - Created in Error"
Hey OD, I didn't error, why did you delete my valid order with validated coupon via your validation button????
Im on the phone in the morning:disgust:
According to OD online cart it's valid today as well.
As of this morning, ordering online, I clicked the "Verify Coupon" button on the cart page and it said: "Coupon Valid"
If they go to the effort of putting a coupon verify feature on their cart, I expect it to be accurate.
Just ordered one, applied the coupon code and the order confirmation I got via the web /email said:
