I recommend all 775dual-vsta users use e5200, e5300, or e5400 because they have the highest performance for the lowest price, lowest power and heat, and highest multipliers for highest overclocking ability. not to mention they apparently work, period!

I think you might find that the e4700/e5200/e5300 makes this board a gem even in old age! High agp voltage in bios, auto ddr2 ram settings, even synchronous pcie and raised fsb as high as it goes, no mods or special heatsink necessary and still good results (though not maximum!)

Hard Drive advice

Perpendicular recording or not is not something the user should be concerned with. The best price:space ratio is found in 500gb drives when they are on sale for less than $100. There is very little reason to buy a drive less than 500gb. The only sub-500gb drive anyone would recommend...

Can new video cards do s-video + vga with all video features?

I'd like to output video 24/7 to an application bound to s-video out. Simultaneously I'd like to be using the DVI monitor output. Both outputs should run at full speed with all video features. I tried this with a 7800 AGP, and the secondary display was slower than the primary one. I think...

7800GS AGP reviews...

This is a dilly of a picker guys. 6800GS AGP is cheap, uses a newish core, and unlocks to be extra fast. But by default it is 350mhz, rather than the 425mhz of the pcie version. Is there a hardware difference, or are they just cheaping out, OR is it a power issue because it doesn't take...

here's somthing to think about, IE any version

There's an MMC plugin called Local Computer Policy, type mmc in the run dialog, add that plugin then it's under User Config\Windows Settings\IE. That's how to SET the bmp, you have to make one to set, first :) Lum

That doesn't count, haha ;) Actually, with ram so cheap, getting a 1gb server going with ~256 of it ramdrived for all hl files... hmm that's actually kind of practical :) But for NOW, I still have to decide if it's worth testing out my theory, or if one option will be better than the other :)

Here's a stumper for everyone: Care to place bets on which would be better for running a Counterstrike server from? The box is a Celeron 466, 128mb ram. It has an oldy 4gb 5400rpm IDE drive on its own channel. My machine, connected to the server over a 100bt network, has plenty of spare room...
