Went to PM at Staples, Leesburg VA - was willing to PM but OOS.
Went to OD nearby and cashier PM'd no questions asked (I left a printout from compusa.com showing the $39.99 price. No clue whether the local Compusa had in stock or not!
Some related questions. I'm considering a SATA drive for the increased 7200 rpm speed.
1. I have and Nforce-3A motherboard but don't know if it is SATA-II compatible - anyone know?
2. Would a SATA 7200 rpm be faster than a IDE 7200 rpm drive?
3. Could I suse a SATA-II drive on the...
Navid, here's info on Vanta http://www.dansdata.com/butterfly.htm
Thaks everyone, I think the HD is the way to go especially since it seems to be getting pulsed a lot for some reason - any idea what might be causing that? Windows XP automatically converted the file system over from Fat32 to...
Holy Saw dust!!
I'm in it's worth a shot. Don't have an immediate need but I could have used one in the past. I've ordered from Harbor Freight before - no problems.
Have you verified it is the phone and not the phone line? Are both phones using a common base unit? If so, the base unit is suspect. Return under warranty.
Thanks. I have an ECS Nforce-3A motherboard and it uses the "old" 20 pin PSU connector. There is also a 4-pin PSU connector that comes from the PSU to the motherboard but it is separate from the 20-pin connect and sits beside the 20-pij and not "in line" with it. Sounds like I'm OK - at least...
Sorry if this is posted in wrong section but the case forum is the closest I could find.
My old machine was acting up and I took a chance and replaced the PSU with a 400W PSU that was labeled P-4 (Pentium 4?).
I just upgraded to an AMD-64 3000 combo. Is there something unique about the...
Hi, I'm bringing my wife's computer in to the 20th century and finally letting go of Windows ME.
I just replaced her old Mobo witha Athlon-64 3000 combo and 1 gb RAM (good deal at Frys B&M) and am using the old video (Vanta 64mb AGP) and hard drive (Maxtor 5400 rpm) both about 3-4 years...
Sorry, one more question. I just put in the CPU with the boxed AMD fan and installed the fan clips on both sides but there is a bllack plastic lever type thing that seems to pivot both clips. I kind of manhandled the clips in. Was there an easier way using this plastic lever or do I need to...
Thanks waitman. Yes, as I stated above, it's a boxed AMD-64 3000+ CPU and fan so I'll use the paste aon the fan as is. I don't think a few degrees is going to matter for my application.
A related question. Just bought a MB/CPU combo and it came with a boxed AMD-64 3000+ CPU and fan. I didn't see any thermal paste in the box but there appears to be a "duct tape looking" grey area on bottom of fan that may be a layer of paste. Is it? Does Frys or microcenter sell paste?
EPP is Dell's Employee Purchase Program. The ones on Ebay are more than likely the $480 NEW ones with the 1 Gig Ram and DVD R/W bought on the latest Hot Deal (in other words, new and not refurb as you stated).
I just ordereed one with the 1gig and DVD burner for approx $480 delivered. So, do you mean I can make this lighter by replacing the dvd burner with some sort of plastic placeholder?
So I guess you are saying you have a problem with court decisions but you see nothing wrong with someone claiming there is a defect in a product when there is none!
Yesterday it was only 50% off the regular price of $89.99 but they finally caved in today and I picked up a great looking tree. I had almost jumped on the Amazon deal before Xmas but waived off since I didn't want to haul a 65lb box up the attic (yes, could have broken it up into pieces I guess...
Ashburn, VA seems to have quire a few of the 190 models. Didn't see any of the 110 models. Sterling, VA didn't seem to have either.
Got the 190 but can't tell difference either except one is a Laser Class 2 and the other is a "3" .
