If you need to close out the gap between 10 & 20GB you need ram caching. So good amount of ram from a superspeed nvme with Asus boards should do it.

This article doesn't cover 4.0x8 lanes. Moreover, I am also considering creative workloads. I was wondering if the 8 lanes (with 4.0) pose some restriction compared to 16 lanes with 3.0.

Most definitely it ain't. Nvidia will release a 20GB version in the near future. Possibly sometimes after the AMD cards come out.

Solved! pcie 4.0 x8 lanes with RTX 3080

Since nvidia demonstrated the RTX 3080 gpus with PCIE 3.0 x16 lanes on a intel system, I wonder if pcie 4.0 x8 lanes are enough for this gpu. Theoretically the bandwidths for 4.0x8 and 3.0x16 are equivalent. Because the gpu has support for pcie 4.0, which is more preferable 4.0 x8 lanes or 3.0...

Yes it works fine. But I don't know how much power the cable can actually deliver (not more than 150 watts). The connector can deliver 600 watts. NVDIA is using the same 12 pin connector in their higher end geforce and quadro cards for ampere. Mostly the Geforce 3090 and Quadro 8000. Maybe dell...

Question "Best" (but less expensive) X570 board, with 64GB DDR4-3600 and dual PCI-E 4.0 x4 NVMe support? Dual GPUs too.

dual gpus? why? buy a single 2080ti if not a titan rtx. x570 only has 16 lanes for pcie slots+4 for m.2 putting a full speed gen 4 m.2 on the chipset will nearly throttle every component on it

I was not looking for racks in the first place. It is a custom build. I ordered the enthoo primo, which has full compatibility. EATX cases do not support SSI EEB.

As I now understand, Dell is using a 6+2-pin to 12 pin cable to connect the GPUs. So in theory if I use 3 gpus, I can only provide 8 pin power to all the gpus. But since I only have 1 gpu I can use two of these cables with my card. With the second cable being used as a 6 pin to 12 pin adapter...

the full length risers, in the gpu enablement kit, are being used to provide adequate cooling for the PASSIVE double slot gpus provided by dell. The retail card I have is actively cooled, so it won't require a direct airflow.

If I open a text file, in both firefox and in notepad, the scrolling is continuously smooth in firefox whereas in notepad it breaks up. This in general true in any other windows application, like R studio, chrome, etc. How do I make scrolling in windows as it is in firefox?
