Yep... Thanks for all the help guys. It appears that the RAM does fail MemTest. I hadn't thought to check that. Time to send it back to OCZ. I hope they don't want both sticks.....

I was reasonably sure I had tried different versions of the drivers. I do have 77.72 on there, just installed 77.76. Thanks for the info, hope this helps.

Oh, and I should add there's no over clocking or anything like that.... I'm sure someone will ask. Drivers are up to date as is BIOS....etc etc

I recently put together a A64 3200+, Chaintech VNF4 MB, OCZ value RAM, and a Chaintech 6600GT (PCIe), and a 74GB WD 10k RPM HDD I have been getting memory access violations (either read or write) while playing World of Warcraft and Warcraft III. I'll assume it's all 3D games, but I don't...

Have had Windows XP Pro installed and I love it!

bah, had XP Pro and I had a horrible time with it. I went back to W2K Pro because it was much more stable than XP (for me at least.)

Is 350W Enermax PS enough for a Dual XP 1.4GHz?

Well this SMP is up running and doing just great. The power supply seems to be doing fine and does not even run that much hotter than it did with a 1.4 GHz Tbird. My only compliant is the case and the motherboard setup is in such a way that I can't reach all my 5.25" bays with standard ATA66...

Well? That's what I have, but do you think that will shorten its lifespan too much? It has combined power of 185. EDIT: I have one CDRW, one CDROM, and one WD300BB HDD. Thanks for the spec, this power supply will do 32A on the +5V line.

Which is hotter, Palomino (1.3GHz) or Tbird 850?

I have the FOP38, but its not the heat sink that I'm worried about. I have an old crappy case that doesn't have a rear fan. It does okay at with the 850, but I think if I go hotter the heatsink may not be able to counterbalance the crappy case. Anyone know where I can find a good case, cheap...

I would like to be able to downgrade the 7k fan I have, but in order to do this I need a CPU that produces as much or less than my current 850. Does anyone know if the new cores are cool enough? Thanks.

Itanium To Dominate Server Market

sparks: MS already announced support for the Hammer quite some time ago. Look here. Besides the Hammer's 32 bit is suppose to be spectacular. Not that anyone uses MS cares about security anyway, and there are already UNIX platforms that have Hammer instructions used.

Return problem, pls help!

I guess I've been lucky. This Samsung 700IFT and my IIyama 406 came in one piece with no noticable problems so far (a few months each). Beside the IIyama weighs nothing for a 17". The only problem is there is no computer store near me. :o

What does AMD expect.....????

Some motherboards detect temperatures much higher than others. For example my MSI detects a cpu/heatsink combo at 70C, but my Epox detects it at 50C, you tell me. As long as the ceramic isn't very hot I wouldn't worry.

RC5 question

Has anyone noticed that when you leave a program idling, such as mIRC your RC5 block rates are higher? I would think they would be just the opposite, but that has not been the case very consistantly. Has anyone else noticed this?
