TV-out shears?

Ig - I think my video card is the same way. I guess I just didn't notice until now. :confused: So anyway, I did some working around in the Display control panel and got hotkeys rigged to toggle between Monitor-primary/TV-secondary or TV-primary/Monitor-secondary. Works great. Thanks! ^_^

Best TV-out card, radeon 7500?

I'm using a Radeon 8500LE (Guillemot 3d Prophet FDX 8500LE 64mb) card and the TV-out is great once you pop in the latest drivers. ^_^

PC133 memory in PC100 motherboard

Sounds like it'll work to me. From what I understand, problems come up when you put in RAM that is slower than the motherboard speed (ie: 100mhz RAM on a 133 motherboard). Correct me if I'm wrong. ^_^;;;

Plextor vs. Lite-On...please read before rolling eyes!

Is it possible to get TV-out on a NON TV-out Graffic card.

It IS possible to have a TV out hooked up to a non-TV out video card. I did it with my Geforce2MX and it worked. What you'll probably have to do is to buy a separate PC-to-TV scan converter module. I don't know the website for it, but I bought a 'Grandtec UltiMate 2000' converter. The way it...

LNE100TX NIC - XP compatible?

I see... well, last I checked, the NIC is working a lot better now. A lot better. If this thing still isn't working right, I have not ruled out buying a whole new NIC all together. But again, it's working better for now.

Theater mode was already enabled, and the 16:9 ratio clips were still stretching. Disabling theater mode would cause it to not output video at all... it'd just be empty black space on the TV. What's this 'overscan'?

The more I work with this thing, the more I'm confused... oddly enough, I haven't had any disconnect errors when leaving my computer online the past two nights. Not a one. Zip. IRC downloads that take 3+ hours go fine (unless the person I'm downloading from leaves, but there's no helping...

I'm using a Hercules 3d Prophet FDX 8500LE card. While I'm very pleased with the video quality on the TV-out, there is one problem that's kind of... well, irritating. Sometimes. Whenever you watch a video clip (DivX, MPG, AVI, etc) the image outputted to TV will automatically go full-screen...

Okay, I am royally confused. I haven't tried switching the card to a different slot to cancel out the IRQ conflict, but for the past day or two it hasn't had any disconnect errors... I think what I'll do instead is take it back to the shop where I had WinXP installed and ask THEM to fix it...

How can I tell if it's an IRQ conflict? I'm looking up IRQs in 'Resources by Connection' in Device Manager, and there aren't any red X's or anything. Though there's a lot of stuff sharing IRQ 9... video card, sound card, NIC card, others... And if it IS an IRQ conflict, what can I do to fix...

Linksys 4-port Router loses connections for a minute randomly

I've had a similar kind of problem, and from my observation it's had nothing to do with the router. It was actually a driver issue with my NIC card. I was using WinXP and a Linksys LNE100TX NIC, and the native XP drivers were kinda quirky. Updated it with the latest Win2K drivers and it's not...

Problem solved! I think the default drivers supplied by WinXP had issues with my NIC card. Updated the drivers with Linksys' most recent Win2K drivers and it doesn't cut out anymore. Thanks for the help!

Yeah, it's been set like that. It's currently set to 30 seconds for the redial period, and it's been working fine. ?_? EDIT: And, the disconnect goof happens whether or not the connection is idle. I can be in the middle of a ~60k/sec or higher download and it'll still cut out around the 90...

Lately my DSL connection has been acting a little strangely. About once every hour and a half, the connection'll cut off for a split second then come back on. For normal net usage this isn't a problem, but it wrecks havoc when I'm playing an online game or downloading large files off of IRC...

Computer boots up really slow

I don't think this would cause those kinds of horrendous boot-up times, but if you have a NIC card installed and you're connected to a LAN, unless you have it configured properly it might tag on an extra 30-45 seconds, maybe a little longer.

Normally I'd agree, but my IRC version (mIRC 6.0.1) is listed as XP compatible, and now it's allowing downloads again. I'm not sure IRC is the cause of the problem, I just thought I'd toss in that I think the program was open during the time of the crashes.

Minor followup: I disabled the auto-reboot feature in WinXP so I could see what blue-screen message comes up, if any. Go figure, I disable auto-reboot and downloading something on IRC no longer crashes it... sheesh. Can anyone help identify what the above error is?
