The bonus points seem to be a pretty good increase in PPD as long as you're turning in results in a timely manner. HFM.net is pretty much spot on with it's estimates on PPD production and bonus calculation.
I can't compare your results with Linux, but have seen an increase in PPD of 20-30%...
Yeah the benchmark is a cool feature.
Here is the project the quad is working on compared to my 2 Core2 machines:
Project ID: 6014

Got my quad core today.
It is sitting @ 99% cpu usage.
Here's the limited benchmark from HFM.net:
Name: Quad
Path: \\Quad\fah\
Number of Frames Observed: 4
Min. Time / Frame : 00:06:37 - 5,515.9 PPD
Avg. Time / Frame : 00:06:44 - 5,373.2 PPD
Cur. Time / Frame : 00:06:56 -...
With mine, I did it all in the setup.
My shortcut is: "C:\FAH\fah6.exe"
I added the switches under "additional client parameters".
My log starts:
Launch directory: C:\FAH
Executable: C:\FAH\fah6.exe
Arguments: -smp -verbosity 9
Is the A3 doing any better?
Anyway I have a cheap...
Hey SemperFi,
It sounds like you definitely have something messed up.
I would check that you aren't limiting the % your core get.
Here is a guide that will get you up and running right. (assuming you don't have other issues.)
Since you have already installed you can stop the client and...
Hi guys....
I haven't posted in a while, but I noticed we dropped in production as well.
I think I am maxed out. I have 6 older boxes running Amber cores. I also have just one newer box running the SMP 5.91 (C2D @2.5ghz).
That box has an ATI X1950 pro and when I first checked out the...
Have any of you guys tried the new V6 clients yet?
I just noticed them when my SMP client quit and I went to get a new copy.
I am just curious is it is worth the upgrade for single core slower boxes.
(I have 7 boxes running v5 CLI and have direct access to 5 of them)
Actually I had 8...
There is no testing mode.....
Just install one of the clients and keep an eye on the log.
F@H is really transparent you can let it run as long as you want and it shouldn't interfere with anything else you are doing with your box.
Keep an eye on the logs and your core temps. (The SMP beta...
Not really sure what you mean by 1 off EUE.....
I have never run Orthos, but Prime95 has run >24hrs on every OC. (The main reason why I have identical processors running @ different speeds.)
Every once in a while I see an EUE. The only times I have ever seen more than one it was due to...
EUE = Early Unit End
It happens when F@H becomes unstable. (not always because of hardware)
My athlons start becoming unstable when software temp readings hit around 50C.
Never really enough to crash the computers, but if I see an EUE it is a reminder to blow the dust out.
Barton XP's @ 2.2 are getting around 190 PPD atm (bonus wu's)
It runs avg 47C (software) it'll start EUEing F@H when it hits around 52C and needs the dust blown out.
The XP-M is definitely a better chip than the Barton XP I have running at the same speed, but the desktop processor has a...
It's on a Shuttle NF2 Ultra-400 board that is capable, ram is Corsair value ram (DDR400).
It also is in a bedroom, so it is setup more for quiet then speed. I don't think I am gonna get more speed without replacing the HS/fan.
The only real world difference it would make is about 20 PPD for...
whoa!
I suppose it might, but I think the ram will hold it back.
Heck it has been running @ 2.2 so long it probably thinks it is a 3200+. :P
Whenever I get a chance I will definitely see how high my E4400 will go though....
I really didn't spend any time at all overclocking...
Wow...I haven't checked in in a while.
I still find it amazing how much more PPD the SMP client gets.
I have 9 boxes:
C2D E4400@ 2.66 (I can probably get a higher clock since I just installed a video card)
Barton 2500+ @ 2.2
Barton M 2500+ @ 2.2
Barton 2500+ @ 1.8
Barton 2500+ @ 1.8...
I have got an Asus G33 board and am seeing a 1280x720 res available.
I believe that should be standard 720P. (have you tried that res?)
My HTPC sends 720P to my 51" RPTV just fine. (different board and video though)
BTW-I am using the latest video driver from Intel. (v. 6.14.10.4820)
I installed the windows smp client on an E4400 @ 2.66 machine and it is using 4 processes.
I guess it is because of HTT.
This is a new learning exp for me since this is my first Intel build since a Celeron 500.
I am wondering if the SMP client will use 100% cpu load on a quad since it is...
Hey GLeem...I added the -forceasm flag after reading a post recommending it.
When I restarted today it was the first time it didn't trash the work done and start a new WU.
I am not really sure if -forceasm has to do with it, but it hasn't caused any problems.
Thanks for the stats GLeeM!
I find it amazing the dif in PPD with the SMP client.
Yesterday my fleet turned in 6 WU's for 27xx points. 1 from my new box (SMP) for 17xx and 5 from other boxes for 10xx.
Also....I was kinda surprised when I started the smp client up again today and it didn't...
Bump....
Here's a link for the mobo in question....

The closest I have come to verification is forum sigs... :P
Well, The board I mentioned above has bios options for auto, 1.8, 1.9,1.95, and 2.0V.
I thought the 1.8V issue came about with the P965 and G965 boards.
I know I went about this the wrong way, but that is water under the bridge.... :P
I have a 2 GB kit:
Corsair CM2X1024--5400C4 1.9V 675 mhz (2 sticks)
I would like to buy the Asus P5L-MX mATX board (945G) along with an E4300 processor.
Although, I am not sure if the RAM will be...
A lot of guys @ Harmony Central bass forum have bought these:
SX SPB-57 Black $109.95
Rondo has Guitar packages cheap as well:
SX SST62K Guitar Pack $109.95
Here's what this thread started with me:
My bass rig (the 5-string bass on the left came from Rondo for $159.95!)
Thanks for the stats GLeeM! :)
Been a while since I've checked in and I'm liking the increase in production! :)
For those new guys... I'd like to note that using the -advmethods flag has been getting quite a few bonus WU's lately for my primarily Athlon XP's. Currently I am up 60-70% in PPD...
oops wrong button....
EOC isn't working but Fahstats is.
Here's a link for those of you who don't already have it:

Thanks for the stats GLeeM! :)
Man some of you guys have been really pouring it on the last couple of months....
Most improved definately has got to go to Sid and Cupcak3!
Although.... I hear footsteps...... ;)

Thanks for the stats GLeeM! :)
I think I figured out why my main box was getting EUE's when watching video.
Looks like my chipset may have been getting too got. I cut the voltage back .1v and tried to get another EUE, but couldn't. I probably need to pull the HS and reapply some TIM.
I...
Speak for your self Sid ;)
Right now I have the first 2 non P212x WU's I have had in about 2 months.
One is a P2142 (476 points) 30-40% PPD gain.
The other is a P3038 (186 points) not enough info yet.
My next box to send a WU in has -advmethods set. (gonna see if it makes any dif again)...
Awesome guys! :)
I haven't posted in a while...been kinda busy with my new toy. :)

Kinda contradicts my username huh... (Actually it has been 16 years since I have owned one.)
Anyway I just passed 500,000 and thought it may be time to see...
Wow, I didn't know anybody was able to get anything from the firewire.
As to your Comcast box, if it is unscrabled QAM The current HD cards can get it, but it is probably not and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a card that will work.
I am kinda SOL on my HD receiver. I am using a...
Hey Sid,
Sorry so long to reply!
When I set up my HTPC for high def I bought an Avermedia SageTV bundle like this:

Then I added another tuner later. Got this one...
