Getting an old game to recognize current QuickTime version

I have a rather old game "The Daedalus Encounter" and it ships w/ QuickTime 2.0 and I wanted to know if there were any utilities or any way to fool it to use the current QuickTime version that's installed on my computer? Thanks! =)

Ti200 - Gainward vs. VisonTek

I'm looking at getting a Ti200 and was wondering if anyone could give a recommendation of either the VisionTek Xtasy 6564 GeForce3 Titanium Ti200 or the Gainward/CardExpert Geforce3 Ti200 Golden Sample. Any advice on the matter would be much appreciated. =) Thanks.

Win98 DVD playback better using ATA66 than ATA100?

er... yeah shuddup =) I meant I'm not moving it from the VIA IDE ports to the Promice IDE ports, hehe.

I'm not moving the DVD, I'm moving the HD. If the setup is HD on Promise, DVD primary VIA ide, playback is choppy If the setup is HD on Primary VIA ide, DVD on secondary IDE, playback is great

Win98 DVD playback better using ATA66 than ATA100?

I'm pretty darn sure I have DMA enabled cuz that's what ppl said would give it better performance. As far as driver issues, it's just using whatever drivers Win98 assigned to it, the only drivers I got in the box were for DOS.

Win98 DVD playback better using ATA66 than ATA100?

I'm noticing that on my Asus A7V133 that if I have my IBM HD plugged into the Promice ATA100 port that Win98's DVD playback gets a bit choppy, however if the HD is plugged into the VIA ATA66 port then the playback is fine. Windows2000 isn't affected at all, but I got a DVD game (Riven) that will...

A7V133 w/ faulty USB ports?

Overclock = drive error?

Anyone know why it is that if I have the voltage set on "Auto" in the BIOS I will get a drive read error during bootup, yet if I set the voltage to 1.85 it will bootup fine? (This is when I put the BIOS to speeds like 7.0 x 143 or 7.5 x 133) I'm confusered. :( AMD Athlon 850 @ 963...

Screen jitters at anythign about 60Hz

Heh, trust me I've already tried that. Plus the monitor degauses everytime you turn it on. Anyone else have suggestions?

Screen jitters at anythign about 60Hz

My monitor (Sony Multiscan E400 19" Trinitron) jitters whenever I bump the screen resolution above 60Hz. I normally run at 1280x1024 16-bit depth. The only other resolution so far that I've tried where it doesn't jitter slightly is 1024x768 @ 100Hz. Anyone know what might be causing this...

nVidia 2D image quality

I've heard in multiple posts that the 2D image quality with nVidia chipsets isn't that good? I'm thinking of purchasing an nVidia card tomorrow but those comments worry me a bit. Right now I'm just using the crappy ass SiS530 graphics chipset that's on the motherboard but I will say that I think...

Chances of getting a Duron to OC to 133MHz FSB?

Yeah, I know which motherboards to get. Like I said I'll be getting an ASUS A7V133 (which is KT133A), and my HSF will be a GlobalWin FOP32-1 (which is adequte I believe.) I just gotta be sure that when I stick that CPU in it will run at 266MHz FSB vs 200. OC'ing it to 900+ MHz wouldnt' be bad...

But the Duron CPU itself should have no problem running at 266Mhz FSB even though it was designed to run at 200Mhz FSB?

Chances of getting a Duron to OC to 133MHz FSB?

I'm kind of confused on how this works... putting in the Duron will the motherboard default to a 200MHz FSB or will it automatically try to run the Duron at 266Mhz? Do I have to unlock the L1 bridges or is this purely a BIOS settting I can switch to?

I'm looking at buying the ASUS A7V133 and I'm wondering if I was to buy a Duron 700 what are the chances of getting the CPU to run at a FSB speed of 133Mhz? :confused:
