its not really its 300 new zealand money :) were like less than half USD :P i cant find anywhere in NZ that sells anything other than corasir for cas2 so kingmax @cas2 133 is the smae performance as the corsiar cas2 133 ?

heya's i can either get a 256 meg stick of pc150 kingmax which aparently will run 133Mhz @ cas2 for $330 NZD or i can get a 256 MB stick of Corsiar pc133 Cas2 ram for $360 NZD. the kinmax is 30 bucks cheaper but will it and if it does will its 133Mhz Cas2 be same performance as the actual...

umm from what ive seen and read it is 100% acheivable to the same speed as you defult. ie 10 x 100 = a 1 gig chips defult but with the kt133a you change it to 7.5 x 133 to = 1 gig but with increased system performance.

this is a question im not stating anything :D i heard that ddr is only about a 5-10 % increase in perfomance anyways if this is true imo its not worth the xtra bucks but im not sure where i heard it im prolly wrong . anyone answer this?

kt7a and ddr hmmmmmm

i have been told by a mate and i saw on some random forum aswell that some ppl reckon that the Kt7a mobo will be able to take ddr ram. is this true??? i cant remember where i saw this as i was at uni but you guys normally set me stright and help me out so ill listen to you fella's :D cheers LaRnz

im using a alpha heatsink with paste ill try the voltage now i thought i had pc-133 ram but i sandra tells me this so i guess i dont. LEGEND Performance Tech LO8642-SA3- 64mb 4x(8Mx16) sdram PC100-322-622 it says that x 2 guess that means its pc 100 ram?

Y wont this t-bird overclock?

hey people just got a T-bird 900 and a kt7a (non raid) any way what am i doing wrong?? i know i cant change the multiplier without doing the bridges but i thought the fsb could be dont a fair bit with this setup? it will post @ 112 (224)= 1008Mhz fsb but it gets a windows protection error...

250 watt psu enough for this rig?

abit kt7a thunderbird 900 geforce2 mx sound blaster live value isa 56k modem asus 12x DVD creative 4x writer. a 250 psu going to be enough im getting the mobo and chip in 2 days will my psu be ok? atleast for 3 weeks or so?

which is the better socket A board for overclocking and also for being a generally nice board that wont give me crap. im looking at the abit KT7a this be ok? or a asus A7V better? or what? where i am the Kt7a is $400 and the A7v is $380 NZD.

Help is this a knowen win2k prob?

it was in pio mode but i changed it to ultra dma no diff in performance it worked fine in 98 before 2k. p3 500e@700 (i tryed it unclocked same story though ) , leadtek geforce2mx ,sound blaster live. on a ASUS CubX motherboard so its a bx chipset.

Yeah i had it for about a month before but i got a HDD corupttion lost all data (gay) , but it was running sweet i actuly though apps etc.. were quite fast still and games ran just as good as 98 but this dvd performance is crap :( . i havent put sp1 on yet but i dont think that will fix this as...

All this hype about Klipsch.........What about Altec speakers???????

cambridge FPS 2000 speakers rip all over any of the altec range not even close. Klipsch make some good sounding ones though.

Heya's i have had win2k b4 with no probs but i just got myself a 12x asus dvd player and i was using 98 and all the dvd's etc played perfectly. I just upgraded to win2k now my dvd's run kinda crappy and jerk a fair bit any ideas guys the drive is running at UDMA 66 it i also tried it on the 33...

arhhh ok np they also sell a 700E thats standard clock is 100Mhz so whats the multiplier on this chip how do you know what it is? one of these should make a gig considering tis a 50% fsb rise eh? I WANT A GIG DAMMIT!!! hehe just not enuff spondoolies to actuly get a gig chip :) their like $800...

how do you work out what your cpu speed should be at a certain fsb? i have a p3 500e @ 150 fsb which = 750 Mhz so am i right in sayin that 150 fsb is 50% of the base cpu speed again? just wondering if i purchase a p3 733 133mhz coppermine if i clock that to 150fsb will it reach a gig? as it...
