Check this out: PowerColorGeForce2GTS64 vs MSIGeForce2Pro64

The Pro and the GTS are the same core, but at different core speeds. The correct name for the Pro is the Geforce GTSpro and therefore it is possible that this is indeed a normal GFpro. Did that make sense? BTW I have a feeling that MSI have revamped their GF2pro card. I have just got one...

MSI StarForce GeForce2 Pro -OR- Gainward cardexpert PRO/450

My MSI G2Pro Plus-T64D(I believe this is the newer version iof the starforce) clocks at 248/505- As far as I know this far exceeds the Gainward. For my 1.33Ghz cpu I am top dog in both 3dmark2000(10780) and 3dmark2001(4678). This is with no alterations, or mods to the actual card(stock cooling)...

Videologic Kyro II or Guillemot?

GF1 DDR Upgrade to GF3 or GF2Pro?

If they are the only sort of game that you are playing, then I'd call you silly to upgrade. Your current card is more than capable of playing just about any RTS that you could throw at it. If you were going to play the latest and greatest FPS, thewn my answer would be different. So I say stay...

32mb vs 64mb kyro2

I have a 32mb Kyro2 and I must say that its performance is more than comparable to the 64mb Hercules.-I have the AGP Videologic Vivid!XS(tv out). So far I haven't come across any game that taxes the memory limit what so ever! However you are right in what you say about avoiding PCI if at all...

Why is my Kyro2 performing like crap?

I think you'll find that the dodgy textures are due to you enabling texture compression in games that don't support it. Or possibly in games that have it enabled in game.

As regards to comparisons to a GF2pro. In the UK you could buy a Kyro2 AND 1Ghz axiaY for the same price as a GF2pro, there you go T&L problem solved! ;)

In GLmark my Kyro2 beats an awful lot of GF2mx/GTS/Ultra!!!!!-sorry, but I had to add that as I'm fed up with Nvidia owners quoting 3dMark!

Yeah got to agree there. You will get better performance out of a GF2pro/GTS with that set up. So unless you're thinking of upgrading the rest, then K23 isn't a worthwhile buy. BLIMEY-both PVR2 and myself saying get a GF2gts on the same thread!!!! ;)

Upgrade From MX: Kyro or Pro?

Unfortunately you can't buy a Videologic card, as they do a cheap upgrade path with their cards. When you register it they keep you on file and when the next card comes out they sell it to you first at a cheaper price.

Kyro II is impressive but disappointing just the same.....And if you have the MSI Pro need l some advice

I'd just like to add that I have absolutely no problemns in either of those two. Unfortunately I'm restricted by my monitor to 10x7, but it still looks gorgeous and I have experienced no crashes what so ever! BTW I run a Vivid!XS Kyro2 on a 1GhzTbird @ 1.4Ghz.

Kyro II or Monitor Problem

Try updating your monitor drivers to their latest iteration. I believe this is to do with not having plug & play drivers. If your monitor doesn't have any drivers, then try the Sony ones as I believe they may be multicompatible.

Hmmm..what will a Kyro2 be like with hardware T&L? It's biggest weakness is high polygon count scenes...

Take a look at the SEGA NAOMI2 arcade board! That uses 2xPVR2(series below Kyro) chips and an "ELAN" t&l engine. That thing looks absolutely amazing-VF4, Virtua Soccer2 etc..WOW!

kyro II ...... is it an upgrade????

Remember that this probably wouldn't be a $112 purchase! I'm pretty sure you could get at least $100 selling that GTS. So as a $12 purchase it may well be worth while just to experiment. But everyone else is right, unless 2D is that important, then the difference in performance is negligable.

I'd call it an upgrade, BUT not one I would reccomend making! The performance difference on todays K2 drivers will be tiny compared to the outlay.ie not worth the hassle!

VIA 4-in-1 4.32 Beta released

The reason you have to upgrade the 4in1's is because MS saw fit not to include them in their O/S. I believe this is also true of every motherboard chipset other than INTEL's. I find it a bit harsh on VIA to blame them for this, as they are doing their best to give you the best possible stability...
