I will try all four DIMMs inserted and see what happens. Is there any risk of damage if their completely different? I am thinking of just upgrading motherboard and ram to ddr4.

Ah thanks for looking. I wasn't aware that the motherboard I have was old. I bought whole setup last year off eBay secondhand. Unless I can manage to get this RAM to work with my current board I am thinking of just upgrading to a newer one. I will check if new...

I have updated the bios to Version 3602 and cleared cmos. To be honest I wasn't aware about a qvl list before so have not. Is my best option to return them? Thanks
