strage, pc will not shut down when pci modem is installed.

its not a win thing, it happens in linux too. does anyone have any more ideas? i guess the modem just does not like the mb....

well, its not that old because it did use to shut down before i upgraded the mb/ram. i did a fresh install.

how far do u sit from your montior and what size is it?

i have the lg246wp from bestbuys which goes back on sale next week so i am going to get a 100 price adjustment. the thing is nothing looks as crisp as 1900x1200. not only that but its just wierd on a widescreen.

how far do u sit from your montior and what size is it?

its just that i have been use to a 21in crt up in my face because the tube was pushed agaisnt the wall and my keyboard was actually a little under it then that was the edge of my desk. now i got the lcd as far back as it can go and the no matter what i do the texts are always too big and small...

just got a 24in lcd......its about 2 feet alway and i hate it. the text is either too big or too small and the pics are way to small. ohhhhhh i might even go back to the 7 year old dieing crt.

advice on a new monitor(19-21)

my 10year old crt is cracking and poping like crazy, its on its last leg...looking for a good montior. i dont game alot, but i do game. i want something clean and crisp for browsing the web and movies too. does anyone have any advice on specfic models and also what should i be looking for...

is this a mb issue? no video, just powers fan......

i just reset the bios via the jumpers, i now get video but when i enter the bios all i get is a blue screen. and i cant boot from the hd. is it safe to say the mb is done now???

no, i have........it was randomly crashing. i mean it would barely never get into windows, and crash.......i couldnt even boot from a linux cd, it would crash asap. so i was just removing all the parts....i let it sit for like a week, went back to it and then i found this.

Computer Keeps freezing on games....

i responded to your other post.......if the video is old, then it could be the ram. not saying its bad, but maybe the board just doesnt like it.

has it always been doing this? happens in all games? what video card? could be ram,video overheating, or its time for a format. please tell us what video card you have, even if its not overheating there are some older cards that if are not ran really cool, will cause it to crash underload. i...

i can not reach this point.............. ok, i just removed everything besides the needed componets, and still same thing. i even tried ram from another pc and still same thing. i unpluged the hard drive and tried reinstalling windows seeing if it would go any farther, but still crashes...

well, i hit f8 and disabled automactic reboot on failure......now when it starts xp pro it it blue screens with "page fault in non paged area". after shuting automactic reboot off i was able to enter safemode....i tried doing a restore, but its having problems once it reboots out of safemode...

asus p5k del board keeps crashing...p35 chipset

well my sata controller died, wont find any sata devices now....tried everything and called asus tech support. so i have no choice but to rma it now. ill update the post once i get the new board installed with an update if the crashes was due to the board. hopefully it was the old board :)

just talked to tech support @ asus. seems like the sata controller is bad. gonna have to rma it. damnit! i hate switchin mbs, gotta remove everything again.

well the crashes happened when i replaced my mb, cpu and ram. users on here think its because i did not format the hdd when i upgraded. ill try looking again for any ata settings but i never had to mess with any of that in the first place.

i went to turn on my pc the other day, and it took a very long time to go through post, then it came up with some boot error, replace etc etc. the motherboard does not even see the hd, which is an old rapter. no settings were changed but i went into the bios and reset defaults just incase. same...

Are most PCI cards compatible with P35 boards?

no, this is not concern. a standard pci card will fit a pci slot, not matter what. pci is pci.

my p4 3.4ghz shows 2 cores under task man...

i just built a new server and it dual boots xp and 2003. its a standard mill 3.4ghz p4. both windows shows 2 cores under task man. i thought it just might be a bug, but both "cores" are actually being "stressed" at different times. any ideas? im thinking maybe it is really a p4 D 3.4ghz and was...

i used a program called sysprep, which basicly strips out all the drivers and settings...its mainly used for creating an image of a hd and pushing it out to a bunch of computers with diff hardware.

fans run, all leds light up but nothing happends!

help people......i put in a new set of dimms i had for a new build and it worked, but same thing happened when i woke up. i was using it fine last night. so i just removed dimm#2 and it booted again. so my guess is its not the ram......is it the motherboard?
