Track down a windows share

I think I've found an answer. Exporter, from SystemTools.com was able to dump all of the shares, (with permissions) from my servers to a txt file.

Track down a windows share

I'm looking to be able to quickly find what shares a global group is associated with. For example, there is a group called managers, I'd like to find out what shares on whatever servers, that the group is in their ACL. Does this make sense? Any ideas?

yeah, pretty large amount 1303. I was hoping there was some way to chain dsquery with a dsmod or dsmove call. Thanks anyways though! You're help has broght me a good ways with dsquery and dsget!

Sorry to single you out, but you seem to be on the ball with this stuff. Once i've pulled a list of computers with: dsquery computer -stalepwd 180 How do I take that list and then move the computers from one OU to another? For example, I want to then move them from "OU=RSS computers...

ok, I think I've got it working to an extent. C:\>dsget group CN=Accounting,OU=Finance,DC=temp,DC=cary,DC=im,DC=com -members -expand | dsget user -email This gets me exactally what I want, but I've run into another issue. I get errors when I try to burrow into nested OU's. Example...

Dump a particular field from a user profile in AD

Basically what I'm looking for is to notify all the users of a specific gourp that a share location has changed. We populate the email field, so what I'm looking to do is to somehow export the email addresses from all of the users for a given group.

Err Made a stupid mistake that needs help fixing

It's asking for a local account login now, such as the local administrator. Here is a tool that will let you reset the local account password. Read the information on his site and make sure you understand it. You'll need to have one of your domain admins add your system back to the domain...

Thanks for the replies. I think that setting up a DHCP server would be a confilct as they don't actually have control over the current dhcp servers or any other part of the network. Its a really big company and kind of hard to explain. Looks like I've got some heavy reading to do!
