Overclocking 1.0Ghz Thunderbird?

Because the A7V is a KT133 chipset, not a KT133a, the FSB speed is pretty much limited to 110FSB & more likely 105-107FSB stable. minendo is right about unlocking the multiplier to get the max o/c. If you get the latest BIOS, you can set the multiplier up to 13x by using the 12.5x jumper...

RC5 Long Benchmarks

UB I think you've made an error in your maths somewhere. The Athlon/Duron series is about 20 faster per Mhz than a P3. Taking your figures. P3 2,684,275.04 KEYS/SEC = 2877 KEYS per MHZ per SECOND MP 5,172,332.39/1400 = 3694 KEYS per MHZ per SECOND The athlon is 28% faster than the P3 Russman

I'm doing RC5 as fast as I ever have, trying to get into the top 1000 before the end arrives. I was really saddened when loads of people moved over to SETI over the whole Dave thing, but I'm gonna see it through. Ya gotta finish what ya started! :) Russman

41,865 blocks were completed yesterday (0.00006092% of the keyspace) at a sustained rate of 130,070 KKeys/sec! Ranked 87 for the day. This is about 31% of the rate of this participant's best day ever, which was 16-Jul-2001 when 133,721 blocks were completed at a rate of 415,457 KKeys/sec...

Question about how much OGR work to cache

A P133 will do about 50gnodes/day. The average WU size is about 100gnodes. On average a WU every other day. Russman

FSB Bridges?

There's an article on anandtech about this (too tired to search for it). How are you setting the fsb & multiplier settings? For it to work, I belive you have to set both either by jumper/dip switch or both through the BIOS. I think it's failing to boot because on start up it's trying to do...

My A500 desperately needs more airflow! What do I use to cut the holes?

Swanny You could buy 3.5 inch holesaw & arbour to drill the holes yourself, but you need a fairly meaty powerdrill to avoid burning it out (>1kw). The holesaw can be got from any half decent tool shop, but the cost would probably be greater than a new case. If you can get a case for $30...

For the distributed client cfg, what should i change in the peformance options to make it go faster?

Changing the priority level in the performance section of the dnet client usually makes little difference to the performance. It usually just makes the PC less responsive. To maximise your output, you should prevent as many background programs from running as possible, like the icons next to...

Whats a good benchmark score for Rc5 for an 1.2ghz @ 100 fsb.

The dnet client does seem to run a tad quicker under w2k. What are you using? You should also try to keep the number of programs running in the background to a minimum. This can make quite a difference. Russman PS ottawanker 1584 NICE!!!! :)

That's what you get for living in the EU. VAT @ 17.5%. That's a sales tax on 99% of products for our US cousins. Colin the best I could find was £66 for 128mb & £128 for 256mb @ dabs.com. Russman

ASUS A7V Motherboard Working Perfectly With An AMD Athlon 1.33 266 FSB CPU

It's actually the 12.5 multiplier that runs at 13x. It's implemented in a later BIOS version, not too sure which one, although my A7V is running 1.007 or 1.008, can't remember for sure. I've got a 1.1 TB@1326 running in mine 13x102. I'm not too sure how much higher this board will go because...

What does the C/W ratio mean?

Swanny A lower C/W is better. It basically works by saying x cpu produces n watts. Call it a duron 800 produces 40 watts or something. A HSF unit will have a certain C/W ratio as you've already seen. So using your TT figures Blorb's C/W=.47 so C=.47*W C=.47*40W C=18.8 Chrome orb's C/W=.75 so...

A few questions from a Newbie

Yeah, what Elfinex says. Dnet can sometimes take a few days to process the stats if they're messing about with the database. It's nothing to worry about. Dunno about the pproxy issue, I don't use it myself. I'm sure Russ or some such enlightened person will be along soon to help you out though...

ugh, dnet isn't crediting all my work!

There are problems with the dnet stats sometimes. A couple of things to bear in mind though: Are you using the 8012 client on any of your boxes? Packets from these are rejected as being bad. Are you submitting lots of randoms? These don't count towards your total if they've already been...
