Laptop HDD + Adapter + PC. ERROR: Parameter is incorrect.

the drive itself may be failing, some hd manufactures have tools available to download so the drive errors can be corrected or data recovered. what is reported by windows 7 when goto 'administrative tools / computer managment / disk management ' does the drive show up there ?

How to download video from a camcorder via USB?

does the camera have a firewire port, try it instead, it what i have to use. if not then you will need the usb driver from the manufacture, and thier specific directions on how to install it. atleast thats what i have to do with my sony trv 340

Windows 7 Pro x64 stability issues

memtest is done outside the OS, so whatever drivers installed for whatever hardware has absolutely no affect on the outcome, if memory test fails = IT failed.

NO, fresh install of XP will require related drivers, which has to follow a certain method, posted a guide on another thread, you either follow, OR suffer a corrupted install, after which you will have to reinstall everything. nuff said !

did you run the extended hard drive test ? if not start there. then run memtest for atleast 6 passes, 0 errors acceptable. if both above pass then its likely hardware related.

have you tried disabling Hot Plug and Play ? have a look in power management, maybe something there. since its happening with 2 boards from Asrock could it be a bios issue they may be having ?

never seen that before, its funny that win7 sees a vga controller as hot plug and play, go into the bios and make sure your first choice for video is the pci device and disable onboard video.

i remember XPMC and all the time i spent trying to get it stable and dependable, i swore i would not go through that again, i had high hopes that Vista MC would be much more reliable and less maintenance, which it mostly is, i guess i expect to much from MS and MC, i wont purchase a copy of W7...

never use any tools that are packaged with mobo's, stick with needed drivers and avoid the extra applications, rerun the bios setup and repair the installation or just reload to make sure all the crap is gone for good.

win 7 can do this itself and works very well, will also give you the choice to make a bootable recovery disk which you should have anyway, programs > maintenance > backup and restore > Create a complete backup and restore image.

1 minute, 50 seconds, fully loaded Vista Ultimate desktop, according to Crap Cleaned and MSconfig only 'Mse, ehtray.exe, CCC' are loaded with 47 processes @ 44% memory used. thats with 2 gb ram, 5 hd's and 2 Cd/Dvd's, i am not bitchin.

if the disk has no partition info then it wont contain any data, to store info on the hd it would have to be partitioned first.

problem istalling win on wd black drive

the bios must be set and the boot order for a new mobo, does the hd show up at the post screen ? a raw drive must have its partition set and be formated for windows to install.
