Don't bother. Both amd and intel already know their counterpart performance. and therefore have already priced in these chips accordingly.
Look at the recent canadian pricing leaks for both camps and be smug about how you are faster than all the twitter leakers in regards to actual performance :)
I think 12100/12400 users need to buy new mobo for the new i7s
False. Amd use whatever benchmark that suits them the most. At the moment, there isn't a single benchmark that can capture the whole performance spectrum of zen. I think, to amd, bg is the most appropriate because of avx512.
I don't know about that to be honest. Main stream market is going away in favor of performance. Consumers are willing to pay for markup. Look at ampere vs rdna2.
Sorry to disappoint you but raptor lake does not matter at all. For alder lake users, raptor is a very very small side grade. For all other users, amd offer a much much better core and platform. Hope this helps.
It's not ideal but remember amd priced in these chips according to competitiveness. Intel price will be +10% at least for raptor lake. Either raptor will be slightly better or zen 4 continue to sells like hot cake. I heard from so many friends working in the industry saying amd is VERY confident...
V cache version will only be available for the 7800x3d. I don't know if they will release 7950x3d due to mostly heat. Heat will be a big problem going forward. I'll actually wait until zen 5 unless 3d vcache part will blow raptor lake successor out of the water.
You're right. .What interests me is that amd chose to include more games this in the geo mean ipc calculation. We'll see if the actual ipc uplift is 13% in a wide range of apps and games, which I hope it should be.
Robert Hallock said the 7950x was running well under 170w in the demo with all cores running well above 5Ghz. It's literally less than a day away, wanna bet something interesting?

This is correct. Zen 3 is only 11% faster than Zen 2 in cb whereas its actual uplift lies elsewhere. As I recall during zen 1 launch window, amd actually "convinced" maxon to update its suite. Can anyone confirm this ?
Because he knows his reputation is on the line. I have a feeling tom is really trying to get all his source infos early. He had legit sources for sure but for amd I can't say.
Amd apparently spent a lot of transistors for scaling so they ran out of space for higher ipc uplift. Also perf increase due to uplift isn't linear, I was told to expect 25% on average in the best case scenario - what ever that means. They could have done more to be honest but it was time for...
Just a slight off topic. I followed @SkyJuice60 aka Angstronomics after he leaked the correct zen 4 ipc uplift, awhile back. Same guy just leaked https://www.angstronomics.com/p/amds-rdna-3-graphics. RDNA 3 allegedly is all about area. That means amd is wafer constraint, meaning zen 4 is a...
