Could you live like this (minimally)?

We almost do. We have more than 100 items each, but live with little stuff. This allowed us to make a trip across the US last year (costing about 10 grands) and across France 4 years ago :)

Studies show having children sucks, having more children even more so

Has anybody tested this yet?

Just performed a clean x64 install with an upgrade version. It only asked for the Win7 CD key and activated it without problems. For me, it worked just like a full retail copy. (I previously had a 32 bits Vista install, and could not upgrade unless doing a clean install)

Multinational or small business? Which is best to work for?

I was wondering what are people thinking about this. I have myself only worked in small businesses in software development, so I cannot say for sure. The freedom of small places is certainly nice, but the opportunities that large companies offer are good too! What are your experiences?

hehehe, around here, they are planning to charge around 3$ to get on Montreal Island by any bridge. Get ready for some serious trafic, unless they use some advanced billing methods (like picture of licence plate). Anyway, glad to see that I can still pay cash on most of your tollways!

For those living in the NYC area...

I'm thinking of going to NYC for a weekend with my girlfriend, but I would prefer not to drive in Manhattan. Is there a place in New Jersey where I could park for 2 days and take the ferry or train to the city? If so, is that expensive?

Getting a Windows Vista DVD when buying Dell PC?

Title says it all : Do they send you a Vista DVD when you buy a new Dell PC? I know they used to put a recovery partition on the hard drive of new pcs, but is it possible to get an actual DVD (or CD) with the original Windows installer?

Install windows vista beta from windows 2000?

I have the DVD iso of Vista beta 2, but I don't have a burner. I have installed it in a VMware machine, but I would like to install a dual boot with my existing windows 2000 install. Is it possible to install Vista directly from windows 2000 using a mounted drive (daemon tool)?

Just installed Ubuntu, but cannot login...

After install (in a VMWare machine) of Ubuntu, I rebooted but not cannot login as Ubuntu always says that the home directory for my user is set to a directory that does not exist. Is there something I can do about it??

POLL: Wendy's, Burger King, or McDonalds?

McDonald's by far. BK's fries are too greasy and the burgers are so-so. There are very few Wendy's around here, but the few times I tried it in the US, it was the worst of all 3. McD for the cheeseburgers, fries and healthy meals!

Thermaltake slim volcano 10 - Need to add thermal grease??

I just bought the slim volcano 10 heatsink for an Athlon xp 2200+. I was surprised to see there is no thermal grease supplied in the box, but there is a gray square in the center of the heatsink base. Is that a thermal pad, and is it sufficient to make contact between the cpu and the heatsink...
