You can get a C3 Corvette... (Like mine) for around $5000 - $10000. I wouldn't sell mine for less than $19000 due to the mods I have put into it and the paint.

If you notice all the little Jap cars have to have turbos to hang with the v8s? Supras and 3rd Gen RX-7s (I almost got 2nd gen but it wasn't turboed) are the only jap cars I could care about.

Racing sounds good... I only have 4 cars on my kill list right now... 96 Vette LT1, 97 Mustang GT, 98 Talon (i think TSi), and a Subaru. My car isn't on any nitrous, superchargers, or turbochargers though.
ANTI sorry! For that price you can get a true sports car (Corvette yea I'm partial) also there are Camaros, T/A Firebirds, and lots of others that would spank it and catch all the girl's eyes. A type-r stock isn't going to hit 200mph either (your profile).
Sounds like that would be a good race Zoson. My 75 hit a peak of ~375RWHPP on the dynos. I think I am going to try and get the sheets scanned tomorrow also.
I even had a ricer tell me... It would be a lot easier to take a SBC (small block chevy) put $2000-3000 in mods and make it run low 10s than to get an import 4 banger spend $10000-15000 to get it to even walk with one.
