Which Mini PCI Adapter should I

I'm also interested in upgrading my mici-pci card (i've got a t30, but same principle!). What are some good 802.11b/g cards? cbagz: where did you get those prices? i tried to find them, but no luck.

You'll Need Heavy Duty Hardware for the games in 2004

Ummm, those are definitely not the bare minimum settings obviously....I'm running Far Cry with a 2.5 P4 (400MHz FSB) with 512 MB ram and a ti4600 just fine at 10x7 with medium AA/AF. Those must be the specs for running those games with at least 4x aa/af at 12x10 or something like that.

how does a ti4600 compare?

Now THAT'S something I can definitely work with. I played both the far cry demos at 10x7 with medium settings and it was smooth...haven't tried anything higher yet, but i'm sure it'll still be great. Thanks for the feedback guys

ok, have a few psus to choose from, which has cap. of 10 devices to hook up

I was thinking more along the lines of an enclosure that would house SEVERAL drives, the more the better. I've seen them all over the place for SCSI drives, but nothing for IDE drives.

OC our CD-RW are we crazy?

Does anyone think it's possible to upgrade a Yamaha 2100E 16X burner in a similar way? I've checked google a couple of times for something about this and I've come up short. But yea, if someone knows that would be pretty sweet, although I have pretty big doubts about it. nsx

Upgrading RAM in old Sony Vaio

So I removed the keyboard and didn't really find anything all that helpful. I thought I had found some place for the memory for a second but realized that it's for the PCMCIA cards instead. Anyone have a schematic or something useful for this model? This baby's really choking on 64 megs running...

Upgrading RAM in old Sony Vaio

Yea I checked but it's a really old model....it's a Celeron 333, so it's at least a couple of years old. I got him to try to take out the screws on the bottom but the case wouldn't slide out neatly. Does anyone have any experience with upgrading RAM on the N505VE Vaio model?

anyone get NFS Porche unleashed to work in win2k? BTW It works great in XP :)

Just go to www.ntcompatible.com and either get the patch or follow instructions!! not that difficult guys...and i think there's a way of getting NFS High Stakes to work on Win2k as well, again at that site. A few other games like NHL2001 can be fixed that way. Come to think of it, I never had...

So I got home yesterday and I had a little suprise (well, not quite so little after all) waiting for me at the door. My cube server that I had been contemplating for a month or so and finally ordered. So yea, it's big and heavy...at least more so than the case that came with my Micron...

Ahhh! What a cool case

That Yeong Yang case is pretty sweet. Kinda tough to connect the hard drives and the devices with 18" cables since the case is so much longer than a normal tower. But if you have 24" you'll be set.

What is hard drive patitioning?

I've found the best way to partition a drive is with a circular saw...sometimes you get poor partitions with a low tooth-count. The best utility to use is a carbide-tipped high tooth-count blade with a powerful circular saw...you get great cuts with it! :)

Well what do you mean with the "best" power supply? If it's quiet and powerful that you're after, but don't care about money at all, get the Enermax Whisper EG651P-VE. It's got 550W, plenty of overkill but it can handle anything (I mean ANYTHING) you throw at it...TBird 1.4 @ 2 GHz, 6...

Help. EZ CD Creator killed my Win2K setup. Cant even restart!

I've had the identical problem...it comes up since there's a conflict with Take Two (a portion of the EZCD5 install) with Win2k...I'm not sure what to do right now, but I reformatted and reinstalled with a Custom install and unchecked Take Two...works fine now! Also, do you have a zip drive? if...

SiSoft Sandra's results vary so much that it's not even funny after a while...use a benchmark that really tests the hard drive, something like HDTach or something. Anyway, the hard drive probably works find, it's just Sandra's messed up results have you wondering what's going on... nsx

Advice would be grateful about IWILL ka266r mobo....... What is the max amount of IDE devices that can be hooked up?

hmm...that's weird, whenever I worked with RAID like that I never had any serious trouble. Guess you'll have to try it out and see if it works out without stability issues. If it doesn't then you may have to go with a pci controller after all. Oh well, that's how things work I guess...
