Does anyone know if a Pentium 2.4ghz 800mhz bus processor would be able to run on a motherboard with a maximum capability of 533mhz? I know I woudn't be able to utilize hyperthreading but I would prefer to buy the 800mhz since I could possibly use it at a later date in a mobo that supports the...
Hi,
I have an older Abit BH6 system with a 900 mhz OCed system. I am looking for a cheap video card that does quality TV out. It must work with Windows XP. My old STB Velocity 4400 is not supported for tv out in Win XP. I tried TVtools, but using it seems to corrupt files and causes...
I am a PC technician and recently one of these showed up in our shop for repairs. I was really impressed with the design of this case. Anyone have an idea who makes this case for Gateway?

I know someone who refuses to use Atlon XP processors in his system. His reason he says is that there is no thermal protection built in to the chip like the Intel processors. So that if a processor fan quits the chip won't get fried. I thought AMD rectified this little undersight.
Cleveland Oh store has tons of these. I picked one up today and probably will pick up another one this weekend. The first charge on mine took almost 10 hours to charge before the green light came on. Don't know why they call it Speedy charger. If you look at the ones listed in the jbro.com link...
rather have the a7m266. tons more stable. each to his own though, I'm sure. (reeling on a wennnnnnnnnssday night)
This board has a reputation for being stable. Read some of the review out there. Mine has been flawless and it is also one of the Newegg refurbs.
Just a suggestion but when I want to boot from my second drive I go into the the bios and change the boot order. Takes less than a minute and the other drive becomes the slave.
Package came today. It is the full shrink wrapped Visiontek Xtasy Geforce2 MX200 32MB PCI version. I installed it already and is working fine.
ENPC was fast to deliver and item was exactly as descibed.
:D
BoBSnob,
Used the link you have to the HP ZT1130 at BestBuy. It shows up as $1299.99 -$100 instant rebate -$100 mail in rebate. Final price is $1099.99, not $999.99
I don't think you should consider a $700 laptop to be a gaming machine. The point of TechTV's review was that they were very surprised how well the Intel 830M performed compared to laptops with similar configurations but different video chipsets. My point is the same, that performance bang for...
you may only charge the battery when it's completely drained out for the maximum life of the battery. Which can be an inconvenience, compared to the Li-Ion battery, which doesn't have any of the restrictions of the Ni-MH. "
The guy that said this has no idea what he is talking about. Nickel...
I ordered one of these for a machine I wanted to upgrade but had no AGP slot. It seems to be getting tougher to find an inexpensive yet relatively fast graphics card for older systems. ENPC has a Resellerating of 4.5, I orderd on Wednesday and got a shipping number on Thursday.
When I ordered...
cbsurfer,
Gotta disagree with you. I looked at both models and ended up buying the S157. First off the Processor is a much more modern Celeron. More closely related to a Pentium III as compared to the standard desktop Celeron in the S177. Although it's true the Intel video subsystem in the...
It is absolutlely free. I printed one out last week, taped it onto the package and headed for the post office. The package does not need to be scanned at the post office. I just checked USPS Delivery and Confirmation page a few minutes ago, punched in the numbers from the printout, and it gave...
BeerGoggles,
Great deal! Sounds very much like the one I did earlier in this post. Lots of people here seem to be second guessing this laptop and the quality and it's abilities. I think anyone would have a hard time finding anything else out there for less than $700 that has the features at...
Laptop has 2 Dimm slots. One is filled.
Go to Intels Link to read how this Video subsystem manages memory. Very different from previous shared memory video.
Graphics Memory Allocation
When Local Memory is not installed, and all Graphics Memory is being allocated from system memory, the total...
Tualatins are 133mhz bus speed and 0.13 micron with 256KB L2 cache. The S157 is a 1.06 Tualatin Processor. The 1.1 Celeron running in the S177 is an older design built on a 0.18 micron die with only a 128KB L2 cache and a 100mhz bus speed.
I bought the S157 and am very satisfied with it. The...
Just picked up a Toshiba 1005 s157 from my local Staples. They had it there fo $899 after their $200 instant rebate. I had printed out the ad at BestBuy.com before it was listed as out of stock. I persuaded the Staples manager to pricematch the print out and use the 110% Staples price guarantee...
I can not find any information about the 1805-S177 at www.toshiba.com. Also did a google search and the only hit was the one at Best Buy. Perhaps this model was made specically for Best Buy to sell. The graphic chip set sounds a lot better than the other model.

That is not true. Both Lithium Ion and Nickel Metal Hydride can be recharged at any time without first completely discharging. I believe your...
My advice is to return this piece of crap. I got mine Sunday and it quit working today. I returned it to OfficeMax and got in on this Deal. CyberDrive 32x12x48 packaged by Pacific Digital for $85 out the door. Read the review I have linked there. It supposedly can burn Safedisc2 discs.
Just picked one up at my local Staples B&M. They are selling them at the stores for $129.99. I had them pricematch their website and then I convinced them to accept a $20 of $100 code. $85 out the door.
;)
Windows XP recognizes it as a "CyberDrv CW058D CD-R/RW"
Just what I suspected. I have...
I have a Pentium III 933mhz processor and 128mb 133mhz sdram that I wish to use in a new system. I would appreciate any reccomendations for a quality stabile ATX motherboard at a recent price. I have not kept up to speed with the Intel systems for a while and have built only AMD for the past...
