Got you both beat, dad died when i was 16, at 24 my brother died in his apartment and no one heard from him for 11 days and i had to clean up the mess :(
Are these YMMV? Every time i go to walmart in my area, they always have their prices extremely high and no one knows what i'm talking...
i recently bought one of these. I enjoy it, except that after awhile it was saying "No Disc" when i was loading a DVD.
I thought the DVD was bad because it was playing on my computer, so i tried a DVD that was working fine the day before and it was saying "No disc!"
I thought i had a...
I bought one of these. I'm very impressed but there are some things i didn't like about it.
First off, it's very feature rich. Which is a good/bad thing, but if anyone out there has no networking experience they'll be lost quickly. One thing that i didn't like about it is that they're not...
I think it's all about personal preference.
My siter lives in poland and has vonage. Since she lives in poland, she needs more flexibility (better customer service, a number where i can call and be local, being able to call anyone in the US for free, etc) so vonage is obviously a better...
The real purpose of these is to equip them with an IDE Raid card that supports hot swapping of drives. That way if one of your hard drives fails, you can just eject the defective drive, install a new one, slide it back in and still keep your uptime.
yeah, i'm 38x34-36, next to impossible to find clothes too. I'm in the market for some summer dockers, anyone know if this sale will be on tomorrow (4/12) ?
this is a big ymmv as some motherboards will not accept these type of adapters. If your motherboard supports it, it's a good deal. However, when you want to do an upgrade you also want to upgrade the memory too. And if it's an intel chipset (i810/i815) you're limited to 512 megs of ram, and...
Im curious too as how this works. I'm looking at the other magazines this guy has, and it seems like it's a cheap risk to take for high gain reward. Anyone know the 'real story' behind this or is it 100% legit?
I don't agree, i've had a lot of problems with belkin. For a long time i was recommending belkin for home networks as the price was right, and they seemed to work ok. Unfortunately, their quality is horrible. One of those wireless belkin routers had a defective access point out of the box, i...
It looks like the cheaper one doesnt have any optical zoom, and it has some bad reviews. but the $100 one seems like it has great reviews. I'm going to consider the more expensive one ;)
Unfortunately, people do judge others by what they wear. I do a lot of freelance computer consulting (my small business, yay) and when i was younger I would wear a tshirt and a pair of jeans. lately, i've been wearing a nice collared shirt, and dockers and i've noticed a HUGE difference. The...
That's against the 'law' of USPS, if you wanted to be a big jerk you could report them :)
I'm glad they have the 12"x12", for a long time they didnt have any at all. Which sucks because it's perfect for sending most things, and on the plus side i really dont mind paying the extra fee especially...
My sister wants to buy me a dvd-+rw for my birthday, and i'm going back and forth on the optorite and this drive. Which one is really the best? I read that the NEC one is good if you update the firmware. but i'm pretty conflicted.
only downside is that there is an $80 MIR on the 16 port. kind of hefty/risky.
Probably be 'cheaper' to get the 5 port and the 8 port as the upfront cost won't be as much
I installed one of these for someone. That spamming thing is totally blown out of proportion, it does it once every eight hours. and if you select 'no thanks' it will never, ever ask you again. And you can make that setting within the router.
It's an ok router. Nothing to write home about. It...
There is a lot of advantages. Read what i said in the begining. The best thing about it is that it's great for lazy people. When i came home, i would have to plug in the AC adapter, then my usb hub, then my network cable, along with other stuff. With this, i just walk in, slide it in, turn it on.
Welp,
I took the plunge and I did it. I figured that I have complete care warranty so what the hey :)
The modification to the docking station was simple. Just a matter of4 screws to take it apart, and 1 screw to take off the hook.
Flashing the BIOS was just as easy. I updated my inspiron...
Thanks for the reply. I never owned an amd setup before, and i do know that the CPU's are pretty fragile and have the ability to burn up if the hs/f isn't on right... I read that the core crushing thing only because a problem on the cpus that were 1ghz and higher?

Anyone happen to know this? i have an amd motherboard, a duron 800 cpu, but my heatsinks and fans won't arrive for another 5 days.
Has anyone tried this?
You can check ebay, i see a few that are going for a ~20$
if you add in a pci card, and it's a video card, you'll have to use an external monitor, i believe.
This is a hot deal for people who own the following notebooks:
Inspiron Class
3700
3800
4000
4100
4150
8000
8100
8200
If any of you picked up a nice and cheap inspiron laptop, but want to get a docking station/port replicator and decided that the inspiron port replicators are too expensive and...
is Harbor Freight really worth shopping at? There is one in my city, but all their tools seem to be noname brands. any good computer related tools in general?
I bought quite a bit of networking and accessories from belkin. and so far it's been kind of sketchy for me. I ordered 4 10/100 4 port routers. Two of them were DOA, the others worked. I also ordered 1 PCMCIA and 1 CardBus 10/100 nics. the PCMCIA nic was DOA, windows detected it as a memory...
Greetings,
I bought a laptop from dell (inspiron 4150!) about 8 months ago; when i got it, i promptly installed a windows 2000/freebsd setup. Since I never used windows xp, i have no use for it and I would like to sell the COA. Can I sell the COA on the fs/ft forum? Does the sticker easily...
I'm suprised people are mad that this computer doesn't come with an agp slot. There is a reason. It's a freaking SERVER! Servers don't need a fancy video card because server administrators only use the video option of it if they're fixing something, else they're just remotely administer the...
