Quiet GF4 cooler?

I'm looking for a way to quiet my Shuttle SB51G system. The loudest thing is my GF4 Ti4200's heatsink/fan. The stock one from Gainward is kinda loud, as is the Thermaltake GF4 cooler. Would a Crystal Orb be good enough to cool a Ti4200? Is there another cooler that's quieter? Thanks, Squibby

Windows XP microsoft sidewinder joystick drivers

Windows XP fully supports my original Sidewinder 3D Pro and Sidewinder gamepads. I just plugged them in and added them via the Game Controllers thing in the control pannel. Pick Microsoft Sidewinder, and it autodetects which one you have. Squibby

Is there a way to play Gran tourismo on PC ?

I know this doesn't help at all, but I feel like being a smart-a**: I play GT3 on my PC all the time - my PS2 is hooked up to my ATI TV-Wonder.

Anyone using a MCX462+ with a L1A Panaflo?

I have a similar setup - Alpha PAL8045 with a Vantec Stealth - and I get good and quiet performance. There's a headroom for overclocking and it's really quiet... too bad my power supply is loud... Squibby

Intellimouse Optical or Explorer 3.0

My brother has the Intellimouse Optical, and I have the Explorer 3.0. I really like how the Explorer is angled so it fits your hand. Naturally, you had doesn't lie flat, it lies at an angle (put your had down naturally and notice the arc under your knuckles). In that respect, I like the way...

Recomend Mousepad for Optical Mouse + FPS Gaming

Shuttle SS51G (refurbished) from Newegg for $219

SS51G uses the SiS 651 chipset, SB51G uses that i845GE chipset, and the SK41G uses the KM266 chipset (AMD, not Intel, as Newegg says).

UT2K3 uses >285mb of ram?

I just put another 256mb stick in my comp (512 total now), and load times halved and framerates went up by around 15-25 (different depending on the map). People have been telling me to get more ram for quite a while...guess they were right... Squibby

Athlon tbird 1.4 or xp 1600?

Last I checked, the 1.4 TBird had the highest heat output of all of AMDs CPUs. The XP also has the on-die thermal diode, which will help if you want to o/c. Squibby

Does a P3-500 Slot1 need a fan?

The old P3's didn't need their own fan, but there does need to be a fan near the heatsink. The stock fan was really small (< 40mm), so it just needs to have some constant airflow. If your case is gonna be kinda cool, I'd flip the rear exhaust fan into an intake, and use that to cool the CPU...

Panaflo or Vantec Stealth?

You might want to consider a heatsink that uses an 80mm fan, like the Alpha PAL8045 (or its P4 equivalent). I don't know how much I'd trust 12cfm to cool my CPU. Squibby

I have both, and I can't tell the difference. Panaflo has a longer standing reputation for high quality fans, but Vantec is on the rise in the cooling/enthusiast market. In short: buy whichever's cheaper. But it's not quite that simple...the Stealths come with 3-pin to 4-pin adaptors and...

What does 3:3:1 and 4:4:1 mean?

it's the ratio between the CPU bus speed, the ram speed, and the pci bus. At 133mhz, it should be at 4:4:1 so the pci bus is at 33mhz.
