Q9450 OC and 8GB ram.. what mobo?

I'm looking for a motherboard that will be stable with 8GB RAM while OCing my Q9450. I haven't bought my RAM yet, so I'm open to either DDR2 or DDR3. Budget is less than $250. I was thinking about the ABIT IX38 Quad GT, but I can't find an in depth review about it similar to the reviews at...

Peter's right. PIO mode is completely diff from DMA.

There is no option in the bios to enable pio mode for any of the channels. I looked.

I have a msi k7t266 pro2 version 2.0 . It has a via kt266 northbridge and is running windows xp pro. The problem is... I can't enable DMA for any devices on the secondary IDE connection! My DVD drive and burner are all running on PIO mode. I've updated the bios to the latest version.. installed...

mpeg2 playback problem

I'm having a pretty bad problem. I just got my new 8500 DV and put it in my computer. When I play any mpeg-2 video (anything with the extention m2v) It plays at about 1.5 times the actual speed. Not really a good thing. Any suggestions? I'm running: Athlon 2000+ Abit KR7A 512MB Crucial 2100DDR...

multihomed network balancing

hmmm that was wierd... a blank post Actually i want to load balance my ftp server and all incomming data to ftp and/or http. I have a single connection to a t3.. Just wondering how to do this.

AZ11e USB

I'm having a problem enabling the second set of usb ports for this mother board... I purchased a header kit.. plugged it in., enabled the Onboard USB2 in the bios. Now when i plug my optical mouse in there.. nothing happens. no light.. nothing. I've tried switching the way the header kit is...

I was just wondering if this was acutally possible. It's not a hardware solution, just a softwre solution. I think It's bull but I just wanted to get a few other people's opinions

I realise the data is still there, however the FAT tables that index the files are gone. The only thing not over written is the MBR. You can't really hide a program like that there. Besides, could this program then connect to the internet?

Kt7e and Version C processors

Is it possible to use the abit kt7e with a 1.33c thunderbird. I realize it isn't 133mhz bus certified. Has anyone tried this? What about stabliity?

Thunderbird cooling

What would be best for thunderbird cooling? I have a Thunderbird 1200@1475. This produces an amazing amount of heat. I'm thinking a peltier. What do you peoples think? Cheaper is better!
