The 1910 didnt have anything with regards to negotiation. It just sets, trunk, access or hybrid. If it does negotiate its not mentioned anywhere, in the config settings. I havent dug into the man. My problem was the 1810 definition of trunk. They define trunk on that one as an aggregation of...

VLAN question

Just to update this and close it out.. HP has a different definition of "trunking" between their switches. We are using some v1910 and v1810. The 1910 uses the standard cisco version of trunking, and the 1810 just defines them as tagged or untagged. Once i sorted that out everything worked...

I have not abandoned the thread. We had an extended power outage, needed some time to verify everything came back up and there were no issues. Good news/bad news. Once i brought everything up, DHCP started working correctly for the vlan. Bad news, I didn't change anything and can't explain...

VLAN question

Nothing in the event logs. I've been sniffing with netmon, and that interface isn't seeing any dhcp requests. It does show the pings back and forth. I did add another switch with a trunk and traffic does pass across successfully. So it appears I was right in the first place with my setup...

Both scopes are enabled. The ip does match the scope. Ip is set to 192.168.100.2 scope assigns 192.168.100.35-192.168.100.250

Its a server 2008 machine. You can't assign a scope to a specific nic. The dhcp server is listening on both though. It is authorized. It's not handing them out on the other subnet either, i checked that. That is, the machines connected to the vlan ports are not pulling from either scope...

DHCP has a scope for both ranges, and the vlan100 nic has an ip address assigned for the subnet i want. If i set the IP manually, i can ping another lab machine on the the vlan100, as well as the ip set on the server. It can not ping anything on the same vlan on another switch. I have not...

Its sinking in. I've gone back to my original setup of untagged for vlan100. So i have the first 24 untagged in vlan1 and excluded from vlan100. Computers connected here can pull an ip and access the internet. The second 24 are configured as untagged in vlan100 and excluded from vlan1...

Great, OWA is borked now... help please? (Exchange 2003)

Im betting the cert is fine but because the settings were changed on the default page the url no longer matches the cert hence the mismatch. I would change the settings back to the original method and instead put a redirect in to the owa login or something.

Postfix Won't Work

That error is not coming from your server. You successfully sent the mail to comcasts smtp but they are having a problem sending it any further. Its a soft reset though so it might go through eventually. Try sending to a different domain (gmail or hotmail) and see if comcast is able to put that...

Postfix Won't Work

You need to create the file /etc/postfix/header_checks and postmap it for postfix, or comment it out. Ensure you have also postmapped any other checks as well. /etc/postfix/sasl_passwd also will need to be created and postmapped as well.

Ideally you want the connection created under the logged in user or you will run into the same problem with other network resources including printers. Logging in as the daily user you want to work with and dropping the previous connections and recreating them will give you less headaches over...

Urgent DHCP problem

Ensure that the scope is still active and still authorized by Active Directory. Then you can go from there troubleshooting connectivty (ie the server still has a valid address and can contact any switches etc.)
