I read somewhere that Defender uses Automatic Updates to update itself. When I was having this problem, I turned on Auto Updates, then tried to update Defender and after a few goes it seemed to work.

Are you trying to update via the windowsupdate website or are you using automatic updates?
I havent had a problem with that specific update. I have found that, if an update wont install via the website, then enabling automatic updates will usually work, and vice versa. Maybe give that a go if...
True, but if it is the cold boot issue then it will boot after hitting the reset button a few times.
As for the CMOS question, not sure, you'd have to read the manual. Different boards do it slightly different ways i guess.
This board has a cold boot issue. I was reading a very long thread on HardOCP site about this board as I'm thinking of getting one. A lot of people solved this issue with a BIOS upgrade.

I had exactly the same problem not so long ago when trying to install the service pack from a CD. I copied the file to the hard drive and it worked fine.
I saw them when they supported Iron Maiden in London back in 2000. We had seats to the site looking over the pit and it was insane.
The crowd looks mental on their live dvd too, but you dont see to much of them.
We say that in the Midlands too (where I'm from) and in East Anglia (where I live now). I think its an all over england thing. :)
