Well, most if not all my new case builds involve mini-ITX cases, so I buy these now. The PATA version was only sold at Directron.com for a long time, then it sold out. The slot loader from Pioneer was on hiatus for like a year.
There is no mention if it works with small discs. Anyone care to...
It appears now that the D201GLY2A is the same board but back to active fan cooling. Never had a problem with the fanless solution, but then again, my exhaust fan in the case I recommend helps with cooling it since it is nearby.
Temps for idle are 43/50, assuming that is like chipset and cpu, and at load, about 53/68. This is within Linux. I can't remember what the new programs are for temp monitoring in Windows, but it was mentioned somewhere around on anandtech a few months ago.
I cannot say for Windows CE 6. It...
both windows xp and SuSE 10.3 with the now taken down 32bit sis driver. Temps do read around 68c while doing heavy processing, but that is still normal. As this board does not allow vcore adjustments, I'm not sure what they are referring to. Running a C2D at only 1.2ghz at 65nm is plenty cool...
Well, just because the heatsinks runs hot does not mean it will run like crap. I just encoded a dvd to xvid for hours on end with all the post processing involved on the D201GLY1, and it is stable. What is more, is that I have the one fan in the case set to a very minimal speed with a fan mate...
If you read my impressions from the first D201GLY board, this is sorta a followup.
Breifly, I booted into Vista Business with a new WD 3200AAKS in about 1:00 after a few reboots and after being defraged (will all available security updates installed) from start of OS boot to when everything...
77 + 7.70 for me to ship. I just bought mine from the same place I did the d201gly, www.mini-box.com, for $82.76. As usual, will test it out. Perhaps SuSE 10.3 will natively recognize the video card.
seems simple enough, but wouldn't a completely new adapter fix the issue? Of course, he put it in and not me, but somehow I feel both are not seeing any networks for the same reason, not due to a signal issue.
I was at a client yesterday, and one of his computers could not see his router. Yet, my laptop and his and his printer all connect to it just fine. The computer via the Windows or software from the Dell 1450 USB adapter, both say they cannot find anything.
Well, I said most likely the adapter...

Good burner to use with it, a slim slot loading pioneer unit

It has the 12v plug too, most don't
I also did solder an audio cable to use the line in internally :)
Also, it was able to do real time...
I've been working with the new Intel mini-ITX board for a week now, and can summarize my experience with it so far.
On the Windows side, it works well. For now I have tested only Windows XP. With a Hitachi 250GB 3.5" HDD, it loads reasonably fast. Drivers loaded without any hassle, except the...
Doing a image to image copy doesn't install the mbr or boot loader, or at least it doesn't by default. Most of the time it doesn't work when using different drives, at least with partimage.
Those were different days. I never had to reinstall that OS, and the apps never froze. But getting things to work right sometimes was a pain. If you had a 66mhz 8MB ram computer it ran very fast.
Then everyone tolerated Win95 with its stupid way of working things with a registry and it...
Does your computer make any beeps? You might have to check for a buzzer to hear them. If there is no beeps, it is not a video card issue, but possibly related to reseating the cpu.
You probably will have to dump it though if reinstalling the program doesn't work.
But just make a new profile. Although not sure with firefox how to do it, with the original mozilla they had a profile program shortcut.
I came across a very weird issue with Windows 2k and XP. My sister recently bought a 160GB hdd for her computer. Currently it is an Intel 845G ATX board with a 1.8ghz P4 Northwood.
I put in the hdd, yet her computer, while realizing it was a 160GB hdd, couldn't read it. It kept saying it was...
I wondered about that too, as to why stupid XP didn't show the security tab. What, oh, that's right, Microsoft thinks that no one using XP can handle simple file permissions, it's too hard, we need to make it easy.
Did you ever figure it out? I'm planning to get an Asus A64 barebones soon, and from what I thought you had to do is simply unscrew the bottom compartment and other stuff then you have access to the cpu.
Well took some work to get it running (as with most linux stuff), but it works thanks. Anyway can't find how to run it continuouly to auto update. Funny also how an external web site can provide graphs of my stats, while I can't do it locally (or can I?).
I found the problem; with 8.1 I guess I had Alsa dev packages installed so mplayer used them, and now that I remember that's how I got hwac3 working. So I recompiled mplayer with alsa dev installed and that works. I did some more reading of the supported sound cards in their documentation, and...
If it works via optical but not Coax then that's a hardware bracket problem, with my Asus A7N266-WM in Windows both work fine. I use the Coax cuz my Shuttle ss40 uses the optical input on my Sony receiver.
So it simply knows that / is for one install and / is for another? Well if you all say so.
The SPDIF works fine in 8.1 and 8.2, but the 5.1 output of Mplayer from dvds only works in 8.1 for some reason. IIn 8.2 the receiver will light up that it got a 48khz signal but I get total silence...
I was looking to have both 8.1 and 8.2 SuSE versions on my computer at once, since it seems the 8.1 SPDIF works fine while in 8.2 it doesn't. But I like 8.2 since I have KDE 3.1.4 for Kopete. Anyway to do it?
vbs, like adding microsoft virus support to your browser or system haha use a browser like mozilla that is up to date, unlike IE which was updated over 2 years ago.
I'm simply trying to change the language of everything in the os, win2k here. I found how to type or view other languages, but it didn't change the menus or such. Anyone know how? It was hella easy to do in SuSE linux.
You think that's bad, I had to reinstall it so many times on one computer I had to call, and worse yet, one day even though it was registered, it said "We can't verify the validity of your copy of XP, you need to re register." That pissed me off so much since I just took out my nic and couldn't...
