After seeing all the positive press, I bought the game when it was on sale in December. I played it for a while and got most of the endings and most of the achievements. While I found it amusing, I didn't really enjoy it that much and uninstalled it within a week.
I have several other...
I has a similar experience with my silver K70. The left arrow LED failed on my KB. After placing my initial RMA, I did not get the timely response I expected. Corsair cancelled my initial express RMA because the silver K70s would not arrive from HK for several weeks. Corsair recommended...
I have a i7 3930K too and have been pleased with its performance in my ASUS Sabertooth X79 http://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_X79/
I recently added another GTX 680 in SLI and have no problems to date.
I usually eat lunch out of the office by myself once a week. I've gone to concerts, movies, and even an MLB games by myself. While I prefer to include my spouse, there are times when I just need a little space to enjoy some time alone.
I bring my lunch from home and I like to eat at my desk most days. I have a big office to myself where I can stretch out. I got one of those easy clean Logitech keyboards for work to keep the crumbs and grime from building up. My coworkers don't eat lunch at any one time and they are pretty...
I think the possibilities you raised are valid.
1. I downloaded the Slingshot DLC and played through the alien battleship - brutal at a low level. Perhaps a patch was included in this DLC.
2. Given my increased confidence, I probably have selected very difficult missions to challenge...
Does anyone know if the game gets harder on the second playthrough (same difficulty)?
I'm on my second "normal" playthrough and it seems that the enemies pounce instantly and in many more waves. I played a terror mission where I barely moved any members of my squad in order to dispatch...
I have a Sabertooth X79 board with a i7 3930K @ 4.5GHz - no problems - system has been running since November 2011. I haven't heard a peep from the heatsink fans.
I'm the IT Pharmacist at my local hospital. My focus is more on the clinical applications than on the infrastructure. I generally enjoy what I do. The biggest frustrations involve dealing with the IT bureaucracy and idiocracy. I do not work for the IT department but they often choose to...
I have AHCI enabled and I did install the Marvell SATA6 driver that came with the card. I do not have any drives connected to the ASUS SATA6 connector. I remember reading that you do NOT want to install the Marvell SATA drivers if you are using an SSD that can take TRIM commands. In that...
I combined an ASUS U3S6 USB 3.0 PCIE card with a Rosewill RX358 enclosure and a Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB and got what I think are some pretty great numbers with HD Tune 2.55.
My HD Tach results look even a little better than The Tech Report's...
Here are my results with the 10.3a driver - 5870@875/1250.
My Heaven score looks to have improved between 10-12%. (Previous score of 41.4FPS and a score of 1044)
I saw a 3% improvement in 3DMark Vantage and no change in 3DMark06.
Figuring that the Vapor-X card had a bit of headroom left, I ran the CCC sliders to 900MHz and reran the Heaven benchmark. Unfortunately, I had serious artifacting at that speed. I saw hundreds of sparkling squares lined up diagonally accross the monitor. I jumped out of the Heaven benchmark...
It's been a while but I think the JMicron driver controls the eSata ports and is therefor not necessary. You might want to double check at http://www.xtremesystems.org/f...owthread.php?p=2236754. The Abit forums are gone so I think you might find some answers there.
When I set up my drive, I did a clean install of Windows XP and followed all of the OCZ's SSD drive tips. (OCZ XP32/64 SSD Tips).
I'll check later to see how full the hard drive is but if I had to guess, I would say around 30GB.
I haven't timed how long it takes to bootup or shutdown but I...
All this talk about the Intel X25-M finally caused me to jump on one of these new SSDs.
Here are my results from some typical testing suites: Intel X25-M Results on 12-23-2008
Enjoy!
I received one HD DVD from Netflix that was so scratched up...that I swear some played air hockey with it over concrete. When I reported the disk to Netflix, I got the exact same disc back in the mail.
I just started using Netflix again with 2 movies per month (no throttling there) and have noticed that almost every HD DVD that says it is "available now" has been changed to "short wait" once it is next in the que.
I have the 605 too - so it's good to know that a 3x1 HDMI switch works with this unit. If Blueray becomes the only format, the 3x1 switch will give me a place to hook up another player.
After I posted yesterday, I went home an reexamined my cable box - and it is indeed an Explorer 8300HDC cable box. From the looks of the interface, I believe it has the SARA GUI. I'm still reading the lengthy posts about this box on the AVSForums.
I was just on the Scientific Atlanta page this morning and was planning on comparing the differences between the 8300HD and 8300HDC - what a coincidence.
UPDATE:
I was fortunate enought to get the 8300HD Cable Box from Time Warner. This box has a working HDMI connection so everything was fairly simple to setup.
I have an extremely heavy Sony WEGA (200lbs) and I'm puzzled of how to dispose of it. I might have a mover place it in the basement until I can figure out what to do with it. But I've also considered 1-800-got-junk. I figure they both will charge me $150 to take care of this television...
Thanks for all your quick replies.
Well, here's hoping I have an HDMI connection to my cable box. If not, I hope I get a DVI connection with optical audio. If all else fails its component connections plus optical audio.
