motherboard/cpu combo....where?

had used monarch computers a couple yrs ago, had great service then, but now appears they went down hill fast and out of business. So can anyone recommend a good reputable company that sells combos, and tests them and does it right and a co. that is dependable? I read about bZboys/partspc...

will they ever put the AMD FX processors in a laptop?

yes..battery life is not really a concern, as I will use it 99 percent of the time plugged in...a desktop replacement when away from home...thanks..t

p4, a64, or 755 is best for the following?

For a laptop What I want to know...I read the other threads, but right now, compared to a 3.2ghz p4 or a dothan 755, with software now...how does the athlon 64 compare? I understand that to fully utilize the abilities of the 64, you need the future software..but right now, how does it stack up...

yes that was where I was looking at the sagar... the dead pixel and accident warranty and also that there is a restocking fee for any returns, kinda made me shy from the sagar and the prostar...with dell or ibm or other big brands you can return it for full refund... thanks..t

well I just returned a dell 8600 ..no legacy ports... Am looking at the Latitude D800 with the DOthan 755. Was considering the Fujitsu, but read bad things here about their quality. Don't like their xps or 9100 version as they only put Prescotts in them now and I do not like the prescotts, and...

chuckling..thanks Guys....I do a lot of multitasking and was looking at the centrino dothan 755 or a 3.2ghz processor like in my desktops and had read some more things tonite on the 64 bit processors and that the fx ones seemed to be the best of the 64 bits and was just curious about...

Irritating beeps help please.

BTW, I changed that user account from limited to administrator and logged in and no beeps....so it has something to do with the type of account..I just want the beeps gone!!!>..thanks..t

No it is not an alarm... As I noted, there is NO beep when I log into the admin account, only when I log into the user limited acct. I just did a clean install and same thing. If it was an alarm it would go off on login to the admin acct too... I only beeps just after login while it is...

Just installed XP pro...when I log into my admin account, all is quiet and fine. Yet when I log into the user account I made, while it is loading the systray just before it is finished loading all settings there are 3 REALLY irritating beeps every time. Can anyone tell me what it is and how...

Hard Drive and OS limitations question ...

asus p4c800e deluxe mb....windows xp pro....is there a size limitation on the size of hard drive, and if so what is the max hard drive size it will recognize without a controller card? I know previously the OS's were limited to 127 gigs.....thanks..t

What temps are non overclocked P4 3.4ghz running?

Can anyone tell me what the P4 3.4ghz northwood temps are running with the stock hsf and no overclocking? I was please with my 3.2 running about 37C, and was wondering if the 3.4 ran much hotter? thanks..t

Chuckling..no....it ran more than I thought but it is a custom Lian Li PC 70 from Frozen Cpu.com...great folks....my mods were a bit more than I thought, but I put all aluminum fans in it and that was part of it...t

just a quick question...i got 120mm aluminum and 80 mm aluminum fans in my case...the 80's are rated at 25 dba and the 120's at 29dba...can you tell me if that is pretty good, or is it loud or not thanks..t btw the 80's push 37cfm and the 120 does 80 cfm...t

Laptop advice

Hey thanks for all the info XXS... that was really helpful...I agree on the HP... the Compaqs do look nice. Am glad you cleared up about the diff of the inspiron and the latitude...that helps a lot...I know I can put win2k on there from my disk, but it was just irritating that they really did...

OK, bought a netlinq usb cable to go from computer to computer..drivers installed ok..can transfer files from computer to computer...can access each computer from each one fine...using win2k on both... can share cdroms, scanner, printer etc..but not my internet connection... winroute lite came...
