DFI NF2Ultra and external USB 2.0 HDD problem

Download Motherboard Monitor5 from here. It is pretty accurate. As far as your temps go, they are within limits, but a little high for my taste. I have my 1.33 running at 1.85v and mine runs 36 idle and 39 load. You are probably safe, but I would recommend some better cooling. What are you using...

Iwill xp333 makes AMD 1.0 to over 1.53

Which is better?

Even with SDRAM, the ECS board would have better performance at factory settings. I'm not familiar with how overclockable the 8KTA3 is, but considering it is Epox, I would imagine that it OC's decently.

HSF on VIA northbridge (ABIT KT7A)

You may be O.K. for a while if you have good case cooling, but obviously it was put there for a reason. I suggest getting another chipset fan(I think they are like 45mm or something), or get a ThermalTake blue or crystal orb and replace the HSF and everything. Just my .02, Jeff

Problem w/ Crucial DDR

It sounds like you may have your connections mounted incorrectly on the header. Look at your mobo manual and verify the pin1 is lined up correctly on all of your connectors(Pwr LED, HDD LED, RST Swtch, etc.).

Help me pick a good non-DDR Athlon motherboard with sound!

I was also going to recommend the KK266. I had the RAID version and it was one of the best boards I have ever owned. I was able to get 1554 rock solid out of my 1333 AYHJA with my Iwill. The onboard 4.1 sound was the best integrated sound I've ever experienced. Jeff

Gigabyte mobo is making grinding noises !

You can go with a Thermaltake Blue Orb or Crystal Orb. The Crystal Orb is probably a little bit of an overkill, but they are both very inexpensive($9-$14) and will probably cool better than the factory HSF. You can get them here. Jeff

Computer won't load, help me solve this problem :(

First, unplug the power chord and push your power on button to clear the residual power from the board. Then, clear your CMOS and reboot. Enter the BIOS and reset all of your settings. Let us know how it goes from there. Jeff

Am I crazy for considering an Intel motherboard?

A few months ago I would have agreed that you were crazy for buying an Intel board, but I have to admit that Intel makes a stable chipset. It may not perform like an AMD system, but what good is performance when it is constantly having issues.
