    Since it does have an IR blaster, you don't *have* to have it out and visible....you could use the small IR receiver. I have all my equipment behind cabinet doors, so the only thing which will be outside and visible would be the tv and the Monster Cable IR receiver.

    killer dell laptop $599

    That is because "Windows 7 Professional" is considered a business edition, whereas Home Premium and Ultimate are considered home editions. I agree that it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to not be able to upgrade to Pro from Home Premium, but that's MS for you.

    Nope, it does not constitute as pirating according to MS. You are not paying for a subscription to the OS, but access to the software library itself. It still functions as if you had paid for a retail boxed copy, and all updates are available.

    You CAN do a clean install (infact, if you have WinXP, you're only option is a clean install). During the installation (if you do not want it to do a check on an existing installation) it will ask you to enter in a WinXP or Vista cd so it can validate a previous OS, then it will do a clean install.

    As far as I'm aware (and I could be totally wrong), a restore disk is just an image of the OS, which does NOT qualify as an original OS disk, so the upgrade would not work as the requirements have not been met in having an original disk.

    Curious why you stick with the Realtek anyways......sound just isn't the same when compared to Creative's Audigy or X-Fi (both of which can be had for fairly cheap nowadays). I'm playing Bioshock right now and the sound from my X-Fi (headphones) really sets the mood much better than the onboard...
