i know the differences, but the problem is explaining it to the customer.....they are very hesitant about believing me b/c they have gotten burnt by a previous salesman on this topic.......what i'm looking for is some unbiased documentation explaining the different technologies.....thnx

any last minute pointers for Net+ test?

Any Commercial Printers in the House?

if you only need 1000 of these things printed, i can almost guarantee that they won't use the press.......this type of things isn't as complicated as you guys are making it sound.....i go into print shops all the time and service their machines, and for a 1000 print run like what you're talking...

linux distro curiosity

the only reason i need to be familiar with sco is b/c i have to install print drivers on old unix servers sometimes for my job.......i'm lost when i have to do that and if i ever ran into a problem i would not know where to start troubleshooting......i wish sco would just go away to be honest...

thnx guys......from what you all have said, this sounds like it may be more of a pain in the ass than it's worth......i think i may just install mandrake or suse and play around with it, then later on i'll remove it and install another distro

ok....i am intersted in learning more about linux and want to check out all the distros that are out there.....i have experimented with some mandrake and red hat in the past on an old 233mhz system with about a 3gb hard drive....this didn't really satisfy my curiosity b/c it runs so...

my main system right now is dual booting win2k and xp pro.......i want to get rid of the win2k and change it to linspire....this is how my hard drive is partitioned 5gb partition c: = win2k 5gb partition d: = winxp 70gb partition e: = storage i know there are some complications in that...

Need a laser printer....

keep in mind...."used" is a loose term....it may come to you in need of the same type kit that yours is in need of....what if you get it, open it up, install it, and then it is jamming just like yours?......then you're back to square one......you need to find out just how "used" the printer...

i bought the modem......from what i understand from reading some different sights, is that firmware has been an issue in other cases of speed issues......docsis compliancy is really not the point........the modem works, but what happened is, the isp double their up and down speed from 1.6/128...

how can you make this happen?.....does it have to be done through the isp?........my isp is claiming that the issues i am having with my internet d/l speed is b/c of a firmware issue that is motorola's problem.....motorola is saying it is the isp's responsibility to roll out firmware...

i'm not a big fan of the guardian or the minataur....they are a little over the top......i like the sleek stylish designs better......i'm lookin at a cooler master wave master, but i don't see where a window is available for the black version.....also, i like this little dude.......any more...

will definitely solve the problem......and they definitely have them....just take a look at this link and you will find what you need....believe me, we have hp laserjet 4's in our office w/close to 500,000 prints on them......all it needs is a printer maintenance kit w/some feed rollers Linky

it's not a matter of having "the latest and greatest".....it's a matter of buying the product that best fits the needs of the buyer......he never said how much volume he would be using, and u assume that a student doesn't need volume......never A-S-S-U-M-E

samsung and brother both suck ass as far as laser printing goes.....canon also is shit." I don't care what he does for a living, this is just one guy's opinion. I was so happy with my Samsung ML-1430 for the past year, I went out and bought this year's ML-1710 and have been just as pleased...

u may not notice a difference due to low volume on the machine.....try running that thing hardcore or really expecting the best quality out of your prints and you will see a difference.......ISO certified is irrelevant.....believe me......these cartridges are made by companies that cut corners...

i work on printers, faxes, and copiers for a living and i tell u one thing.....ricoh make the best laser printers.....little more expensive, but u get what u pay for.....hp's are pretty good too, but very difficult to repair and cheaply made.....believe me.....samsung and brother both suck ass...

i repair printers, copiers, and fax machines for a living and i can tell u that generic brand cartridges are a bad thing....they degrade quality of print in some cases, while in other don't last nearly as long as they should.....they can cause clogging as well......this goes for inkjet as well...

i have an mx500 logitech as well as an mx700 logitech hooked to my system....occasionally, my mouse cursor goes retarded and just jumps....also, sometimes i have to ctrl+alt+del and cancel in order for my left click to work.....my system specs are in sig....i'm using a func 1030 mousepad.....n e...

actually that didn't work come to find out.....unless i give the user admin rights, it won't log me off and log them on.....it says only the current user or an admin can log on.....wat's the workaround?....surely i don't have to allow admin rights in order for them to take over my computer
