Gateway Bootup

Does anyone know how to access the bios on gateway PC? When the computer boots up,it says to press F1 to run setup or press TAB to post bios message.None of this is working.It boots right to WIN ME.Is there a trick to accessing the setup page?

I did a little more research and decided to go with Win2k,and a hardware based firewall.So...Now the hookup. Cable modem-----Firewall----Switch----everything else.Does anybody have any suggestions on which firewall would be a good choice?I'm thinking one from Cisco.I would think their products...

I will be running Win Xp Pro on all.I think Black Ice for a firewall.I think I know what you mean with the 2 Nics.I would be coming out of the Cable/DSL modem into 1st Nic card in the server,then out of the 2nd Nic card into the switch,then out to all workstations,right?Any helpful suggestions...

Thanks poontos.I did that and it worked.As far as "IPCONFIG",every time I typed that and a window opened up and disappeared quickly.Didn't see a thing.

Plextor CDRW

I have a question that I hope someone can answer.I just happened to be looking in my device manager,and noticed that my Plextor 12x10x32 CDRW,Pioneer DVD,and HD's are all saying SCSI after the device name.I know they are not SCSI devices.They should be IDE,right?Why would it be saying this?

Nevermind,I downloaded the Softpaq off the Compaq website and that helped me out.I added more memory,formatted the HD and I am currently installing Win ME.Being that this board has onboard sound and video,do you think ME will recognize it,or will I have to find drivers for it?
