    Before you all go off the deep end :) I just put an update in play for this. It was ordering by thread rating by default. It won't do that now unless you click that in advanced search.

    I just surfed around the forums for about 10 minutes using FireFox 2.0.0.4, pages were coming up about as quick as IE? I can't see this issue with FF.

    Threads dissapear part way down the page now...

    A fix went in for this yesterday. I have tried 300+ post threads with 100 per page and have no issues with threads being cut off in the latest FF. Example? My gut tells me this is a FF rendering issue as none of the styles have a length limit imposed ( at least not to my knowledge)

    They should be trapping that error. Basically, SQL fulltext does NOT allow numeric searches or searches for things like "or,he,she,it" etc. They are considered noise words, now you can modify the noise word list, but your indexes get HUGE. We're already dealing with a 50GB database so not...

    Hi folks, are you still seeing slow performance? I wrote an app that runs behind the scenes and collects page performance and the slowest page time on the forums is 140ms (not slow?). Basically, this app hits the site every 10 minutes and collects perf data from page request times. Cheers

    Hard to say, it's step 1 in nailing down what could be causing it. There were some I/O errors in the event logs. We're on it is all I can say at this point, it is a tricky issue to figure out.

    Just a heads up, the speed today and a few other days has been issues on the db server. However, there are some performance suggestions that were made to FuseTalk and they are addressing them in an update we'll apply very shortly. Cheers.

    Cookie is back / Favicon resotred

    I heard that we lost the "cookie" emoticon :) I put it back in, so you should be able to use it again. I also copied the AT favorite icon in, so it shouldn't use the fusetalk head anymore (once you clear your cache in IE). Neither of these were fusetalk bugs, just missing images.

    Why was the site down for around 8 hours?

    We did a massive hardware upgrade this weekend, starting yesterday at 6pm. Every server just about was upgraded, and the database server. All brand spanking new hardware. Most of it is done now, just doing basic rack cleanup and then we're done.

    I'm quite sure the login issue was nailed, from what I can tell it's a bug in the FuseTalk cookie management. I will ensure it gets passed on to them on Monday. All passwords are hashed when they are stored, so it's impossible for someone to get your password. Cheers.
